Wayne Bennett related player movement discussion

Re: Russel Packer - possible link to Broncos

Nah we already have a bucketload of props that we don't use.

Re: Russel Packer - possible link to Broncos

point taken mate..I agree however kennedy has been told he is basically playing park footy for the next two years which will kill his career. ..he is making moves to find another club which will free up a large space in the cap..I rate parker highly but there are better spaces for him in the pack than prop...we need some size and aggression to combat teams like the dogs..roosters who monster us...

Re: Russel Packer - possible link to Broncos

Why would you want a degenerate criminal at the club? Especially someone who urinated on suncorp stadium and thought it was "lol"

Re: Russel Packer - possible link to Broncos

Hook has been pissing on Suncorp on a fortnightly basis with his team selections. Now we can take it one step further with Packer!

Honestly, if the club had any sense of pride, it would never, ever sign a player who dared to piss on Suncorp stadium.

Re: Russel Packer - possible link to Broncos

I tend to agree with ari..im not a huge fan of bringing players with questionable reputations to the club but the reality is wayne has a long history of working with and in many cases turning around players with questionable pasts..

Re: Russel Packer - possible link to Broncos

It's not going to happen. Sponsors wouldn't put up with it.

Re: Russel Packer - possible link to Broncos

there are plenty of nrl players over the years who have done time and been signed by clubs...players like gary winter (pretty sure that was his name)from manly did years in the penn before they signed him..the broncos have shown they will chance there arm for success. ..although barba and dugan are on a lighter level both had extremely checkered pasts before we took a shot at them..wayne has a list as long as his arms of guys he has signed with long pasts. .

Re: Darius Boyd return?

But that just isn't true. I like Barba but I haven't seen him do this once this year.

If only there were videos of the bomb he literally ran away from coz Gavin Cooper was running at him. Pathetic

Re: Darius Boyd return?

Even if we do let Barba go why the **** would we want Boyd when we can have Milford at fullback? Then you could spend Boyd's money on a half or groom Taylor for the role.

Milford's number 1 position is fullback so i totally agree with this. Barba or not, milford is a better fullback for our team

Re: willie mason

Another back rower? Really? We are already a team of back rowers and full backs. Enough is enough. Glenn is a good back rower who just needs to get some quality ball and learn to pass it to Copley for starters.

We need a dominant prop. Milford and a dominant prop. That's it.

As for Mason, wtf? His days are over as far as I'm concerned. Won't he be 35 next year? I'd rather we develop our own than spend money on another retirement villa.

Why should we settle for Glenn? He is average. He was good a couple of years back, but he hasn't been able to hit that kind of form consistently for a long time now. He never passes the ball, his runs don't trouble the defense all that much, he hasn't been that good defensively. He constantly runs bad lines. Why should we settle for that?

In 2008, we had a player that played in the backrow and the front row. He dragged defenders, he bent the line, he could break tackles (48 that season), he put teams on the back foot when running into holes and with his footwork, he could offload, he had ball playing skills, he could put on big hits, and he could bloody kick too. Can you guess who that was? He wasn't the best and he had his flaws, but **** me he provided some good impact off the bench for us that year.

Why shouldn't we pursue that again? There are plenty of backrowers out there that are far better than Glenn and would probably jump at the chance to play under Bennett.

With Barba and Milford in the side, we could use a player like that.

As for the prop, we have one coming. Garbutt will be that prop, mark my words.

Are you talking about Dave Taylor?

Re: Russel Packer - possible link to Broncos

So..... no ex-cons at Brisbane.
