West Tigers vs Broncos post game talk *SPOILERS*

Gee, I thought Locky had a very good game. His passing was first rate, kicking much improved. Yeah, a few mistakes, but I put that down to the weather and, he wasn't the only one.

Impressed with Hunt, Wallace and T'eo. Folau never seems to play a bad game. Glenn is the ideal benchand as another poster observed, more of him running off the halves.

Why Michaels? He has lost it. Wasted space now.

And we're still afflicted with same disease which has been around for so long: poor marker defence and a lack of 80 minute effort.

I agree with someone else's post. If Farah had played, they would have torn us to shreds.

im pissed at this idiot running onto the field and attacking the refs. without the refs, we dont have a game. we may think they are doing a shit job, but rugby league is a pretty hard game to officiate, for all the times they make a bad call and we remember those forever, there is always the ones where they make the correct call and at the time we are thinking "gee how did they see that", but later on, its back to picking apart the ref. This guy should be banned from every rugby league ground in the country.

Couldn't agree more Penny, ban and also should be charged with assault and put away for a while

Also agree with you RBK re Locky, not sure what others saw but maybe we just have such high expectations of him.

Yeah I thought Locky played pretty well. Kenny, Clinton, Sims, Te'o and Parker were all pretty good up front. Taylor, Thaiday and Setu were a bit disappointing IMO.

I've never seen a team play so poorly defending a 2-point lead with 10 minutes to go though. Defence was fine, but absolutely no idea how to play field position! And it's not like we lack experience where it counts - Wallace, Locky, Marsh (albeit he wasn't on at the end).

OK Lockyer threw several shocking hospital passes and also threw 2 or 3 inside ball to nobody but yeah he was great one grubber which was fumbled byMoltzen and Lockyer jumps on the scraps so he had an awesome game.. I think Lockyer was lost without his hair.

Dave Taylor showed why he hasn't been there for weeks tonight. Dumb errors and dumb penalities and did nothing all game.

I have never understood why most people here have such big raps on the kid and continually whinge that he isn't in first grade. the guy simply isn't up to first grade standard imo

I think Thaiday is being played wrong. He is doing all the hard work up the middle, which is what Sims, Te'o, Clinton should be doing. Thaiday should be running wide as that is where most of his impact comes from. He is an impact player, and should be used as such.

Dave Taylor just proved why I don't care he is going to Souths.

Our forwards are lazy in attack and conceded most of our penalties. It's one thing to blame our hookers for not directing traffic and giving so much ball to the backs, but the forwards need to step up in the first place. We gave away some really shit penalties, showing some real ill-discpline. We won the hard way last night.

Lockyer had a poor game, had to be said. Why can't we play wet weather footy? It's like they can't be arsed.

I am glad they got that Tigers no try right. Stripping the ball means the ball has been played at and it has gone forward. It should be ruled knock on more often, even in general play. There is no way you could strip the ball without it going forward.

Those were atrocious conditions which makes me glad we have the bye next week. We'd be spent after the first half if we played next week.

I think it's a good sign we continue to win ugly. Wests were spirited last night and outplayed us in patches but our professionalism and brave defence at the death is what got us over the line. This win is so important with a bye next week. It's the perfect lead up to the Origin period for our boys.

Yep, was a definite must win.

Now, go Sharks, go Storm, go Cowboys! :P

Go Storm Coxy???????? - But they're Villains!

Look, it wasn't pretty but it certainly made some points pretty clear:
- our scrambling D is pretty good
- locky and wallace can find space when kicking
- Steve offers nothing to the team (in fact no only is he avoided by our backline, but when say K takes a chance by involving him, Steve stuffs it up and gets a monster spray that he deserved)
- Taylor is unfit and lazy - what did he play, 20 mins in total???
- Te'o is a real prospect
- Sammy needs to be moved out wide and get a rocket up him (my gf thought that the reason he was off was that he wasn't in the origin side - may be onto something)
- thank god we got the win before the bye
- thank god Farrah wasn't playing

As is the general consensus, a dirty win is still a win, and its far better just winning then just losing!

Storm are playing Bulldogs, beat them (as well as Cows beating Noughts, and Guppies beating Skinks) and the Broncos remain outright first until after Origin 1.

how is thaiday considered a certainty for origin? i dont rate him, all he does is run at markers and drop to his stomach. Ok, this could be how the coach has him playing, ill give him that, but its useless and if he plays like that in origin he is just a wasted spot. he played horribly last night.

as for lockyer, he played ok in attack, but his defence was appalling. he tapped tuiaki on his way to a try, and wtf was he doing when the ball was grubbered in goal.

I doubt Thaiday will have that role in Origin. I agree with you that if he is being coached that way they should change it. He is outstanding when he runs wide. Probably takes a little bit away from his ability to always get the quick play the ball but better served IMO.

agreed. the bloke is massive and if he was using a fend and fighting in the tackle instead of dropping, he would be making great metres. especially out wide

It's unfortunate but i think you'll find his role in the team is to just get the quick play the ball, and to be honest that's probably something that Kenny and Clinton needed at the start of the year to be effective. I would love to see him running wide though, there was a few weeks last year where he was given a license and he was unbelievable.

Proving that he shouldn't be played at fullback :P

How about his hit on Marshall?

His defence has been good the last few weeks. And as if anyone was going to stop Teriyaki or Tongue-her-vag in those conditions?

lol expecting Lockyer to stop Tuiaki, it was good to watch Lockyer smash Marshall though.
