This year by far. I can deal with defeat knowing we gave it everything. I absolutely hate how utterly shit we were this year.

I wasn't exactly barking mad, by about the 5th 50+ flogging you become indifferent but to me being indifferent about the team is far worse than being upset.

I initially voted for the GF but reading some of your comments has changed my mind. This year has been worse for sure.

None of the losses this year come close to losing the grand final in golden point for me, not even the 50 point ones. However as you add them all together, it's a completely joyless season, where 2015 was fucking great until the last few minutes.

It's hard to compare a moment with an entire season. 2015 was horrendous but it was a quality side who had a victory stolen from them. There were many positives that season though. Bennett's first season back but many still tipped them to miss the playoffs after three years of woe. Didn't win the GF but it was still a very successful and unexpected type season.

Fast forward to 2020 when a 59 point loss at home in round 4 was an early warning of what was to come. What followed was much heartache, a 48-0 defeat to useless Wests, two losses to the GC, a loss to a totally depleted Warrior side and defeats to other no hopers such as NQ, StG and Cronulla. Countless negative club records set including worst offensive and defensive outputs and a current 11 game losing streak. The worst part of it is that we have no idea how long it will take this club to become competitive again. It is the great unknown.

2020 is much more disappointing for me as the club is now bogged down in territory where I never thought they would ever get close to.

Spoon you kinda knew we were gonna get it, that 2015 GF was totally unexpected shock horror,

Never want to be in that headspace again..

I'd just be happy to make a grand final at this point. At least you get to enjoy a tonne of good wins throughout the year damn. Getting the spoon is mind numbingly shit to watch for a whole year to the point where you're expecting losses weekly so it has zero effect. Without having personal experience a GF loss wouldn't even compare imo (I'll re-examine in a year depending on the 2021 Titans vs .... GF result hehe).

One of the most exciting games and grand finals of all time we lost on knifes edge, following a year of great games where we just missed out on minor premiers
VS
Getting flogged regulaly, multiple 2nd half capitulations and being considered a total joke of a team.

This year for sure.

Don't know how we are going to improve with the cattle we have, whilst the other cellar dwellers above us look to go better in 2021. Might even be a more terrible year next year, over 3 wins should be the pass mark now.

I personally think that is nonsense, because our roster is far better than what we showed this year. I still think with proper coaching we should be pushing for the eight, provided that injuries are kinder and some of our more experienced players start playing to a better standard. If we get smashed with injuries again, then a similar bottom 4 result could occur.

Losing a grand final hurts and leaves a sour taste, but overall 2015 was a far more enjoyable season and a lot to be proud of from that side to get there. The shit dished out this season is unforgivable and will be something I won't forget, I can stand losing, but not when you watch week after week knowing when the opposition apply the slightest bit of pressure the players have already surrendered.

The grand final still hurts, I’m already over the fact the we got the spoon, sort of seen it coming.
The GF hurt that much I started to dislike my favourite player because he kicked the field goal, it didn’t last long he’s still one of the goats in my eyes

Yep that is the issue. Losing is fine but to lose with no effort, passion or desire to compete, screw it. Hate 70% of the players who wore the Broncos' jersey this year. The only players who can hold their heads high this season are:

Staggs, Haas, Carrigan, Dearden, Farnworth, Riki and to a far lesser extent, Coates and Kennar.

Everyone else basically embarrassed themselves and far worse, the jersey...which was a well documented disgrace itself.

And looks like we may well lose two of those 6.

I think the 2015 GF will have a longer effect though tbh. When we eventually make our next one I'll have PTSD.

I think the thread title here is wrong btw. Between the GF loss and the winning of the spoon, the loss hurt far more because we were all numb by the time we won the spoon...but the GF loss compared to this entire year, as some posters seem to be saying? I'll take the loss every time.

I don't think Riki should be included there. He's really only had like 1 good game so far. He and Coates are still both just potential at the moment IMO.

This is an awkward question. You can’t do both in the same year - granted. However after just watching the GF and if you put yourself 'ourselves' in the same position as Panthers and asked them the same question. Would you prefer to be yourselves and lose the GF or be the Broncs and get the wooden spoon you would have to be a lunatic not to choose being up there like the Panthers and lose the GF. Of course it hurts more getting the spoon - you are at the other end of the spectrum ffs. End of story.
