Obviously he's not familiar with the Ben Hunt Wars.
you think the Ben Hunt wars were bad ... well, they were nothing compared to the Wayne Bennett wars, when it was announced he was coming back ...
Obviously he's not familiar with the Ben Hunt Wars.
Why is it that every player, ex player and club official is fair game on this forum except for Bennett?
The question is whether you think that bashing the Broncos is a sure thing to get the clicks and attention from the media, and it matters little to nothing whether they deserve the criticism. I highly doubt whether a Bennett's public persona attitude change in press conferences would make a difference.
Bennett is definitely a protected species for many people, but think about the reasons for that, and then compare them to your very unilateral criticism. Add to that your opinions in regards to Milford's ethnicity (and I do understand you don't mean them as racism, but that was not how it initially came across), and you've dug yourself into a hole for many people, where you won't come out of without being more constructive, dare I say.

Fair enough but as I said previously, if he was a little more open and less surly with the media and by extension, the pubic, who knows how much more or less criticism the players would be getting. And what if they deserve all the criticism they get?!
One thing for certain, on this forum the opposite is true. Any criticism of WB and it's pandemonium but anyone else is fair game.

This is exactly why your dribble was jumped on. You have a right to an opinion however expressing one about WB on a Broncos forum comes with some expectations. Most posters want you to be balanced in your approach and you most certainly were not. Your opinion should also be fact based and speaking on behalf of unnamed sources is not balanced or fact based. It would have been fine to say you didn't and don't like WBs handling of the media but describing one part as cringeworthy shows a genuine bias and agenda. That particular comment I found to be anything but cringeworthy, I felt proud of him. He was telling the agenda driven, cockgobbling media types that we are united and have had a gutful of negativity and falsehood.
It's been going on for 30 years this month and still we stand, bloodied but unbroken. The public release of Matt Lodges video, a week before the season started and 18 months after it was available to the NRL was deliberate, malevolent and a blight on the game. It was this and the subsequent shitload of negativity that prompted WB to publicly take a stand.
As for the first paragraph, that is precisely what I think. And why I would like him to be a little more available to the media and why it annoys me the way he is. But it doesn't annoy me so much. And I don't think he is doing a really bad job. Just could easily be better IMO. This ties in with your next point about "unilateral" criticism. Personally I thought my criticism was quite balanced..... and at least at first, very mild. I don't care several posters are flipping out. I will defend my opinions whether it makes them lose their minds or not. And I won't lose my mind when they, IMO unjustifiably, slam Sam.
I'm going to ignore the first part of your message as it contains nothing of substance.
I found it cringe-worthy. If you liked it, I'm happy for you. Why can't you accept this? These are grown men and mostly highly paid and should know the media are after sensational headlines to sell their product. WB knows it and emotional outbursts like that aren't needed and no longer work!
But it did work. How many articles, radio segments, tv segments and social comments were made about that statement? heaps. You not what they weren't doing while losing their minds about that? attacking the players. Job done.
This is the second time I have tried to explain this to you and clearly you just won't get it, so enjoy your ignorance.

And I have explained, it clearly didn't work. This is not even hypothetical as your statement is. It didn't work and that is a fact! The NRL won't register his next contract without a clause whereby he must pay his "victims". I mean, I don't seek to embellish what he did but as far as I can see it, a million $+ (how much exactly is it?) penalty for being a drunken idiot where no one was physically hurt is a little over the top.

This probably means there is a good chance he will leave the Broncos (personally I don't see it as a great loss) because he won't be able to afford to sign for less and with the money my hero's, Boyd, Bird and Milford are on, several other clubs will be able to offer him more. Of course if they are willing to offer him more or anything. How do his stats stand up against poor old Sammy's? I guess better but only by a narrow margin.
This is beside the point and probably on another thread. But as far as I can see it and as far as the facts go where they can be judged, the only place WBs surely public persona, extremely limited media interaction and emotional outbursts are working is on this forum in a reverse psychology sense. That is, the worse he is (not in coaching ability but in being available to the media) the more the media ignores him (except to question his future and coaching ability) but the more on this forum say exactly what you are saying. Don't you think if he came out and returned serve on Brown for example that would have generated much more news about him personally?
But let me reiterate for about the 40th time. I don't have a really big problem with it. I just think it would be better if he were at least as available as other coaches and hopefully more so given he is coach of higher profile team. And, I agree with Tallis where he said no one is buying anymore exactly what you are stating.
I was going to say, what’s bad about this - I wish I had the time to do it!!having the time of their lyfeeeeee

What. The. Actual. ****.
I didn't even mention Lodge, this is next level deflection. Answer what I actually said in my post or don't reply at all.
If you didn't have a problem with it you wouldn't have bought it up really
You're really dictating terms there.Nothing wrong with Wally except his notorious cliches. I wouldn’t call myself a WB disciple at all. He has earned a level of respect though, unlike the constant agenda-fuelled bullshit that spews from Tallis’ pie-hole.
**** beat me to it.You're really dictating terms there.
