What would happen if......

Thats the one.... Fulton just keeps making a dick of himself the more and more he keeps talking and how Brohman didn't crack him one amazes me.

Ok bit overboard, say Webb intentionally broke hisjaw during and origin and sidelined him for year....

In that case, yeah he should be Sued.

I believe it wouldn't be a field goal either because it is a restart of play.

Obviously physically impossible as well.

I've seen an 80 + meter penalty... dunno what the longest field goal has been?

No it's not.

Helium into ball = 100 field goal. Success. [icon_lol1.

Actually they tested that on Mythbusters. An airfilled ball will actually travel further, but not by much.

Did you see Hazem kicking the helium ball on the footy show? Kicked it from 100m out i think, was still going up when it passed the posts!!

They tested it with a gridiron ball. They are heavier.

And it wasn't helium. I think it was nitrogen.

Melboourne already do produce their own juniors?

And answer is no it would not be a field goal because it's a restart of play. Similar to if you kick a kick off throug hthe posts you don't get points.

But you aren't doing a drop kick when kicking off.

It doesn't matter. It's a restart of play, therefore a kick can not register points, whether goal or field goal. The only way to score from a restart kick is if a player catches it and scores a try.

Nobody's arguing with post 3....that's the gospel. People should have to swear on that when giving evidence in court. For it is The Word.

Just for the record:

A New South Wales Supreme Court judge has found the Melbourne Storm and rugby league
players STEPHEN KEARNEY and MARCUS BAI are liable to pay damages to West Tigers skipper
JARROD MCCRACKEN over a spear tackle which ended his career.

MCCRACKEN sued the two men and their former National Rugby League ... - this was in 05

So, I guess it depends if something is done intentionally and the rammifications

Intent is one factor, but if a foul is committed that ends a player's career you can be sure they'll sue. Lost income etc.

I would have thought that players and/or clubs would be insured to cover something like that.

Surely it would come under third party insurance or something like that.

I don't know whether income protection insurance would be available given the level of income the players can get and the high risk of career ending injuries.

However, professional indemnity insurance may be possible to cover lawsuits arising from court action surrounding foul play I guess.

What would happen if, with this rediculous advantage interpretation, team A drops the ball which is picked up by team B who then pass it 4 - 5 times across field find a 3 on 1 throw another long ball to the winger only to have it intercepted by team A who race away to score.

Team B have not gained the 10 m forward, which seems to be the magic number they have decided on for the advantage to apply, so it would go upstairs to the vid ref to decide

Fair dinkum, do these nuffies sit down and think of ways to complicate the game ?

I hope it doesn't have to happen in a final where it decides the game B4 we go back to the old rule, where if you pick it up and decide to run or pass that's you're advantage.

I mean it is just BS, if team A is hit in a great tackle and drops the ball them team B picks it up passes twice and is hit in a great tackle and drops the ball why do they deserve some kind of extra advantage.
