It's lunchtime, I'm bored and I cbf doing uni work so I'm making a new thread.

I was just thinking, how awesome would be to have seen the best NSW team from 03-05 play the best QLD team from 06 to now.

1. Anthony Minichello
2. Timana Tahu
3. Matt Gidley
4. Mark Gasnier
5. Luke Lewis
6. Brad Fittler
7. Andrew johns
8. Robbie Kearns
9. Danny Buderus
10. Jason Ryles
11. Nathan Hindmarsh
12. Ben Kennedy
13. Craig Fitzgibbon

14. Craig Wing
15. Mark O'Meley
16. Steve Menzies
17. Luke Bailey

vs

1. Billy Slater
2. Israel Folau
3. Greg Inglis
4. Justin Hodges
5. Brent Tate
6. Darren Lockyer
7. Johnathan Thurston
8. Steve Price
9. Cameron Smith
10. Petero Civoniceva
11. Tonie Carroll
12. Nate Myles
13. Dallas Johnson

14. Karmichael Hunt
15. Sam Thaiday
16. Ben Hannant
17. Michael Crocker

That would be fucking kickass!

phew. that would be fkn huuuuge. I couldn't pick a winner.

The best New South Wales team of 2003-2005?

Let's see here.

1. Anthony Minichiello - this guy was like Dugan with more speed but less balls.
2. Matt King - Dude always performed well for the Blues
3. Mark Gasnier - Self explanatory
4. Matt Cooper - Was at his best at that time
5. Luke Rooney - Was better than Luke Lewis by some way.
6. Trent Barrett - Dude always performed in the sky blue. Fittler really wasn't that great.
7. Andrew Johns - Goes without saying
8. Luke Bailey - Wrecking machine
9. Danny Buderus - Gutsy
10. Mark O'Meley - I recall some very impressive moments in the Origin arena.
11. Nathan Hindmarsh - Ladies and gentleman, the man, Nathan Hindmarsh
12. Craig Fitzgibbon - Everybody loves a good story. Would always make 50 tackles.
13. Ben Kennedy - Holy Diver.

14. Craig Wing - Best impact player, period.
15. Shaun Timmins - Had to feature somewhere
16. Steve Simpson - Would always grow an extra leg in the sky blue
17. Robbie Kearns - I'm sure he was better than that imposter Ryles.

I reckon the Gidley/Tahu combination should be in there for sure.

Also don't know about your Queensland side.

I'd have Karmichael before Billy at FB. Hunt for mine was far superior during that time.

Backline, would probably be different. Folau isn't a left side player and neither are the other two. So either he goes, or Bell comes in on Inglis' centre, Inglis shifts to the wing and Folau/Tate are paired together. Tate was a better Origin player than Hodges who has only stood out in one series for mine.

Berrigan has to be there as the utlity.

Otherwise awesome side compadre.

They may have looked flashy, but they were also very easily exploited in defence.

Eg. Origin 2 2004.

Should have thrown, the man, the myth, the legend, Mr. Moggball himself, Adam Mogg.

Numbers 2-5 don't necessarily dictate the location of the players mate [icon_wink Folau would definitely be on the right.

Yes.

Moggy is the man!

Tate nor Hodges can play left though.

Surely Tate has played on the left before? In fact Ii'm sure I have seen him play there. Inglis would be left center, Hodges right, with Folau on the right wing.

Actually, Mogg did play on the left wing. Problem solved, Mogg on the left :P

He did.

And was atrocious.

Origin Game 1 2006.

Actually I think I remember that, he got dominated in the air a few times IIRC.
