Where to From Here? Let's Plan for 2021...er...2025

And no corporate business experience at all. got to give it him though, he’s had his media mates do a terrific job in paddling his canoe.
Apart from his time as a board member at the Cowboys, you mean?

How many Tigers games have you watched?

Grant is the next QLD hooker.
Mate he is leading the dally m as a rookie, like I said, great player not questioning that, just we were all so wrapped with Turpin, and now we are ready for him to play ressies.

If we could somehow land Grant it would obviously be a great get, but think Turpin is pretty good in his own right

To land Bateman I would assume we would have to pony up the same figure offered to Fifita.

Would be an interesting signing for sure.

Turpin looks pretty good, but Grant looks like he could be the best once Smith retires, and if you can get the best player in their position into your spine, you really should. Maybe Turpin could end up being our Brandon Smith then or something.

As for actually getting him, I can't really see it happening either. Though now that Fifita is gone, there's probably more of a chance with a lot of money freed up. I still think its very, very, VERY unlikely though.

Ceo: Ben Ikin
(Don’t really care as long as there competent enough to do the job at a good and respectable level)
Coach: Kevin Walters - Parker & Hodges as assistants
It will get a bit of culture and pride back to the club
(Would settle for green but would rather Walters)
- I would like to keep Milford for another season since there’s nobody better off contract... same with bird but I actually want bird due to talent
- I think pangai will take the second row spot but I reckon we need to put Brendan piakura on the bench and slowly move him into the second row role
- I believe what’s best for the club is to slowly start using up the salary cap of Boyd, McCullough, Milford, Bird, Oates, Gillett, Kahu, and Isaako when better more reliable players come up
- go hard at munster for 2022 season when off-contract
- keep cap for Turpin dearden Staggs Coates haas and Carrigan
- Sign a quality and consistent fullback

That's three guys with no NRL head coaching experience and pretty limited coaching experience overall. I think we'd be in for a rude shock at how poorly that'd work. We need assistant coaches with AT LEAST a decade of head coaching / assistant coaching experience in the NRL if we're going to hire a rookie coach like Walters.

The club has blown it twice with Bellamy, it's pretty obvious he is the one if you want to establish a culture of hard work and accountability.

I just can't see him ever leaving Melbourne which sucks. He is 60 so no spring chicken.

Why are there so many bad coaches in the NRL? there's legit 3 good coaches out of 16. Why?

I’d prefer Hook as assistant. As shit as he was for us as a head coach, the bloke knows how to get the best out of young players and has a decent fc record.

Who replaces Paul White?

Ben Ikin or John Ribot

Who is coach?

Would love to see Brad Thorn as our coach with Justin Hodges as assistant

Who are you bringing in for the money the club now has from the Fifita-fail and Boyd's retirement?

I'm calling it the Fifita success. I would look at Jack De Balin, Jordan McLean and Ryan James. I think they would add the right amount of leadership our forwards need.

If you want to get creative, what are you doing with Milf's or Bird's money?

I don't think we need much. If we bring balance and experience to our forward pack we have the players to give the comp a real shake.

Who are you bringing in?

Just the three I mentioned

Who are you re-signing?

Anyone except Boyd, Kennar, Kahu

2021 side if I had my way

1 - Milford
2 - Herbie
3 - Staggs
4 - Bird
5 - Coates
6 - Croft
7 - Deardon
8 - McLean
9 - Turpin
10 - Haas
11 - Glenn
12 - TPJ
13 - De Belin

14 - Paix
15 - Offahengaue / Bullemore
16 - Ryan James
17 - Carrigan

Well, I can't see anything improving until they move on from the coach. Whether this stint was in any way shape or form fair on him, I don't know, but it's gone beyond toxic at this stage and nobody is going to want to come to the club under these circumstances. If I'm reading the tea leaves right, Paul Green will come to the club under the guise of an experienced coach who has won Grand Finals at State and Club level and he'll be brought into handle this mess.

I don't know if he is the right fit for the Broncos. In the place that they're in right now, I think they need that former club legend to bring some pride back into the jersey. It would be a short term signing, but no coach with any serious career prospects would be willing to put their hand up to come to Red Hill.

They need to tend to their roster urgently. Whoever inherits the next gig has to be prepared for a lean season and may have to make some big calls around players like Anthony Milford, Jack Bird, Matt Lodge, Joe Ofahengaue, Corey Oates etc. If they can get a Cameron Smith or a Jake Friend I would not hesitate for one second to bring them in. That extends to any player with proper experience.

I'd be looking at a few prospects coming through in guys like Eddie Blacker and J'maine Hopgood to help bolster the team. Players of that ilk that fit the culture of the club who are either being let down by poor coaching or they just have too many players infront of them to get an opportunity.

The coaching element for mine is critical. The players have been over-coached to the point that the very basics of the game are being taken for granted. Free tip, bring somebody in that can teach them how to pass the ball and they're automatically a two try better team. Teach them positioning, timing, technique and they'll be a better team.

Second tip, prioritise defence. Get them working together, some of the efforts and lack of communication was embarrassing. Te'o 1-1 with Fa'asuamaleaui because Pangai didn't signal his intentions and ended up taking nobody.

McLean and Guerra are the two I’m probably leaning towards for off contract forwards and Opacic is a must. These guys aren’t going to break the bank account and throw the big bucks at Keary / Grant.

As it currently stands, this is the 2021 Roster

Jesse Arthars (2021), Jack Bird (2021*), Ethan Bullemor(2021*), Patrick Carrigan (2022), Xavier Coates (2021), Brodie Croft (2022), Thomas Dearden (2021), Thomas Flegler (2021), Alex Glenn (2021), Payne Haas (2024), Jamayne Isaako (2022), Matt Lodge (2024*), Andrew McCullough (2021), Anthony Milford (2021), Fanitesi Niu (2021), Corey Oates (2022*), Joe Ofahengaue (2022), Cory Paix (2022), Keenan Palasia (2021), Tevita Pangai Jr (2022), Jordan Riki (2021), Kotoni Staggs (2021), Jake Turpin (2022*)

* indicates player options

23 players which could be less depending on what happens with Jack Bird and Andrew McCullough.

On game day that would probably look like

1. Anthony Milford
2. Jesse Arthars
3. Kotoni Staggs
4. Jack Bird
5. Xavier Coates
6. Brodie Croft
7. Tom Dearden
8. Matt Lodge
9. Jake Turpin
10. Payne Haas
11. Alex Glenn (c)
12. Tevita Pangai Jr
13. Patrick Carrigan

14. Cory Paix
15. Joe Ofahengaue
16. Thomas Flegler
17. Corey Oates

18. Jamayne Isaako
19. Andrew McCullough
20. Keenan Palasia
21. Fanitesi Niu
22. Ethan Bullemor
23. Jordan Riki

The Broncos only have enough cap space to make one big signing, I can't see a lot of money left unless they're able to release a few more players.

The Broncos may want to make a head-start on retaining Coates, Staggs, Dearden and Flegler if they want to avoid further heart ache.

What about Jack de Belin. I know there's a lot of water to pass under that bridge yet, but if he is found not guilty, would you have a crack at him? I doubt anyone would have a problem from a football point of view, it would be more a moral conundrum.
