Where to From Here? Let's Plan for 2021...er...2025

A recurring criticism is that it is not only our lack of both attacking and defensive structures, game plans etc. but our players attitude, work ethic and pride in their jersey and club. We are now just a pay check for most and this is being reflected in our players attitude and efforts.

If we had that strong sense of pride that we had in the successful years, the sense that it was a honour/privilege to play for the club, perhaps fifita does not leave?

That is why i have come around on kevie. I think he will really work on rebuilding that culture. Get in a couple of good assistants to work on the attack and defensive structures with him and specialist coaches (halves, kicking, backs, forwards, wrestling coaches) for technique and i think we could turn things around.

Essential players moving into the future and build the team around: hass, carrigan, dearden, staggs.
Bring in: top tier spine player, experienced left centre and an older leader in the forwards.
We can then develop and recruit around this core group of players.

2) Who is coach? ---------THE WALKER BROTHERS.

3) Who are you bringing in for the money the club now has from the Fifita-fail and Boyd's retirement? ----------UPGRADE AND RESIGN TOM DEARDEN AND LOOK AT GETTING ONE OF THE TWO MELBOURNE HOOKERS WHO ARE BEHIND SMITH.

4) What else is needed? ----------SIGN OR DEVELOP A 5/8 WITH A GOOD RUNNING GAME AND STOP TRYING TO TURN FULLBACKS INTO HALVES.

5) Who are you bringing in? -----------PLAYERS WITH RESILIENCE AND A COMPETITIVE MINDSET (PREFERABLY QUEENSLANDERS).

6) Who are you re-signing? -------------- COATES, STAGGS, DEARDEN, CARRIGAN, HAAS

I'd prefer green over kevie. I don't want another rookie coach... don't we learn. Obviously the wheels have fallen off for green last few seasons but he has had success in his time as well... sure he had a great roster but what premiership coach doesn't.. still have to bring it all together and make it work. Id take toovey over kevie as well ... just not another fucking rookie.
 
Don't think we need to worry about chasing a replacement for Fifita, we have Glenn, TPJ, rikki and pikura.
We should have chased Ese for that experienced prop , but someone like him.
As for backs I'm not to sure but we need some better back up options, not union players that need time to adjust to league.
Coach : has to be Kevie but he needs the right staff , Hodges and parker . Fitzgibbon or one of the Walker brothers.
As for the board ditch em , put locky in a different roll and start again.
 
Too many changes will further destabilise the club. Im willing to give Seibs another year. Twice now (Manly & Storm) we have seen glimpses of a very good team, we just need to fix conditioning, morale and mindset and hopefully the footy side of things falls in to place.

Looking at our roster - must keeps are:
Haas, Carrigan, Dearden, Staggs, Coates

Want to keeps:
Paix, Turpin, TPJ, Herbie, Lodge (get a recon now!), Kennedy, Fit Bird, Glenn, Flegler

Dont care:
Niu, Oates, Luke, Teo, Isaako,

Dont want:
Boyd, Milf, Offa, Hoppa, Unfit Bird, Kahu,

I think our most vulnerable positions are fullback, centre, and forward rotation.

In centre id be transitioning Isaako. He isnt good enough and fullback and is bad on wing.

Fullback id be spending that cash money on RTS. He us the only superstar that we have any chance of getting, and he's fucking good.

I think next year we persist with Milf at 6, Dearden at 7. Halfway through the season, if he keeps dishing ip this crap we just let go of him. Same goes for Seibold.

2022 we get the milf money and can go to market again.
 
With Fifita’s money we need experience and we also need a fullback. As others have said RTS would be ideal as he fits both categories. We also need experience in the forwards but that doesn’t need to be an expensive option either.

To play devil’s advocate, Green has only had two peaks. One was 5 seconds the other way of not happening, achieved with having one of the best players of the decade at halfback, and the other came from a Michael Morgan purple patch. No doubt their general squad has improved and they have some decent kids coming through, but he’s still not a great coach imo
 
The needs to stand for something and stop being so nice. All this has created is a bunch of entitled little ***** that have achieved nothing yet hold the club to ransom. Tesi Nui is a prime example.

Coach: Walters or Green. They aren’t ideal but are the beat available options. My preference would be Walters with experienced assistants as he would get the old Broncos culture back in, but Green is a hard ass and that’s what these princesses need. First question in the interview process should be “will you do weird shit like separate them into groups in the sheds?” An answer of **** no should weigh heavily in their favour.

Players: Keep the core group of must have’s like Haas, Dearden, Coates, Flegler, TPJ (I’m sure I have missed some) and try to keep others like Isaako etc. but **** off the deadwood ASAP like Milf, Bird, Nui even if we have to subsidise.

Immediate future: The club needs to put a line in the sand. The coach needs to go, it just needs to happen. Also, first thing tomorrow Nui should be called into the office and if the first words out of his mouth aren’t “I had no idea my dad was going to post that” he should be handed his release papers. Even if a player is great they can’t treat the club like that, and he simply isn’t.

Oh and release Fifita tomorrow, I won’t watch another game that he plays for us and we shouldn’t be contributing any further to his rehab. The greedy **** has more than enough money now to pay for his own rehab, mummy may just have to go without the 5th bathroom in her Ipswich mansion.
 
I think we start by publicly announcing that we have let Fifita go early as he no longer wants to represent our club.

The board will not fire Pies as it confirms their own complicity in signing a coach who was not ready for the Broncos gig. I don't want Greenie as coach. Yeh he made two GF's but one was with a future immortal at HB running the team and the other was when Morgan found a real purple patch of form. Without these two firing his win/loss record is abysmal. They need to go hard for Madge at the Tigers. Don't care if he's contracted - pay it out ffs. Use the Broncos wealth that keeps getting brought up to our advantage for once.

We then move heaven and earth to sign RTS as our FB. We have the halves that we need in Paix and Dearden. Luke and Turps have got the 9 spot covered.

Then all we need is one hard-headed, honest toiler to lead our forwards. Josh Jackson wins MOM every week even when the dogs are not playing so I'd go hard for him. Failing that I'd like Wade Graham as the one to bring our young forwards through.

Ribot had a even more basic QRL job first. How is on the board that runs the game for a state basic anyway?

If you are a club that is going to need to buy in talent because you don't have any, you don't start by going to war with players and acting petty.

Mistreating Fifita for him making the right decision is simply petty and will do more damage to the club.

I agree. Treat it as development and get him back here in three years when we’re back to being a powerhouse.
 
Only two board members are up for re-election this year.
