Where will we finish?

I don't think we have the defensive gameplan to handle the likes of Melbourne, sharks and dogs.

At this exact moment, I agree with you 100%. I believe it is highly unlikely bordering on a miracle that we beat Melbourne in Melbourne. If we turn our form around I would be happy if we run them close down there. What happens in a finals game against any of those three (if there is a form turnaround) I believe that our defence can rise to the occasion and shut them out.

If we are any chance to win it this year I think we have to make the top 4. If that does not occur I agree with one of the earlier posters I think we win first week and bow out in the second week.

5th/6th, out in straight sets.

not hoping for, just have a feeling we're not gonna go the extra gear required to run deep. whether we have it or not is irrelevant, we don't want it, the gf loss hasn't made us hungry, it's made us believe we're good enough to get there again (but without the application of last year)

at the end of the season there will be serious inquisition into Hunt's future at halfback, he will be given 2017 but that is a succeed or perish moment for him.

...my crystal ball goes no further.

Its not as bad as we think.
We lost by 2 points to the ladder leaders and beat last years premiers by one point.

When the dogs put the cleaners through us we were minus....
Sam Thiaday
Andrew McCollough
Alex Glenn
Jack Reid
Jordan Kahu
Those 5 players would make any first grade NRL side

Couple that with 5 Players backing up after Origin 3 days earlier.

Missing 3(4 f you include Oates after 10 minuites) against Melb.

Only 1 try through the middle out of 48 against, the rest cfame from the flanks, poor old Nikorima, felt sorry for him with Glenn paying centre inside him, he was on a hiding to nothing. Maranta on the other side, I doubt he would make Newcastles run on side.

The Tigers got us with all the origin players out and Reid was out injured.

I suspect the Broncs will go into the semis with enormous momentum.
At full strength we can beat any side in the NRL.
Looking forward to the fireworks in the next 10 or so weeks.

That is interesting when you put it like that. The only problem now though is we have no momentum and have lost all of our confidence in attack and defence. Going to be a big job to get it back, especially when other teams are flying high.

I'll give us a few more weeks following origin to see how we are travelling before making any predictions.

69 missed tackles in our last 2 games...

I seem to recall hearing somewhere that defence is an attitude thing...

Our situation is not looking great.

Bulldogs are 2 points ahead and they have a bye in hand.

If we were to win every game going into the Bulldogs game and they lose to the Cowboys, we will be equal. We beat them, we overtake them.

Then we play the Storm and they play the Cowboys in Sydney.. We have to pray they do not win that game, otherwise they will come back to being equal with us.

They also play a few teams where they can rack up quite a score and give their for & against a massive boost. We have a couple of bogey teams on our run such as Dragons in Sydney, Eels at Suncorp.

We have to be almost perfect.

We need some big wins.

I have a feeling our top 4 chances will come down to for & against.

Sad to say I think thee is a fair chance we wont even make the eight. I don't quite see where the confidence is coming from to even win half these games. We have just come off two floggings. WB seems to be persisting with the slow line speed tactic which is clearly not working. Our attack looks very predictable and has was very easily handled by the Dogs and The Storm. Oates looks to be playing injured. Hunt is struggling, Milford is trying to do too much on his own. Where is Kahu?

Looking like 2014 to me. We may scrape into the eight.

WB Is playing games. He'll have us ready to go soon. The line speed and intensity will be returning this week or the following. Once again the GF isn't this week or the next. Have some faith lads!

Going to be one of those seasons I think...

it's only round 6. Whole season ahead of us!

Only round 16, plenty of time left!

Only round 19, it isn't the GF this week or the next.

Round 26, where'd our season go?

I would like to think Bennett is playing games.

But I highly doubt it.

Yes we will just have to wait and see i guess. WB is just too good of a coach with our roster to be going this bad.

Nth Qld missed 43 in one game against Canberra last night.

They lose a game with 5 players out and they have got origin duties,
We lose a game with 5 players out and we have got a club crisis. :hello:

They haven't lost their last 3 games in a row, 6 out of their last 8... They haven't lost by over 40 points two weeks in a row in how long?

They lost in Canberra yet didn't have 40 points put on them, because they at least had a dig.

Two very different scenarios.

Yes, but we miss tackles AND concede 40 plus points...

Cowboys missed tackles against the Rabbits, yet still flogged them 20 nil and were not disgraced last night.

We were disgraced both weeks.

The key word being the Rabbits.

Let's see how the Broncos stack up (in Sydney no less, bit harder than playing it in our backyard) before we get too carried away.

And not to just put a pin the conversation, but when it comes to the Broncos, at this stage I don't really care how other teams are doing. Fact of the matter is, the team hasn't been at their best since Round 4 and have been well below par the past couple of months. They need to sort themselves out until they start worrying about other sides.

Fair enough for the most part, but I'd argue a decent part of the reason they didn't get 40 put on them was because they were playing Canberra.

There's a big difference between the bunnies and the storm as well though. Absolutely everything after about the 10 minute mark clicked for Melbourne that night. A few quick tries, a big man on a small, out of position KNik. Cronk's kicking game. A few dodgy calls. There wasn't much that would have stopped Melbourne that night, particularly once Oates went down. They score a few quick tries down that wing and it's all over. The score line was ugly reading for Broncos fans, but I don't think it was a disgrace.
