Who replaces Folau?

How and why should hodges just walk back into the qld side? he has played ... 2 games in the last year and already you lot are suggesting tonga, who has been there for years, moves aside for him? hodges hasnt done enough for QLD origin to EVER just walk back into the team. his form isnt even good yet. he shouldnt even be a consideration right now.

Agreed. His name alone shouldn't be automatic selection. Once upon a time when he was the best centre going, yes, but not now.

Tonga is a given imo. My post should have read, if Hodges isn't available Berrigan should (or at least could) be in for him.

Agree with what you say to some extent about Hodges but surely the same must apply to Inglis.

Inglis isnt in form, and rarely is, but at the very least he has been there and done a great job for us over the years. he always steps up in origin, so i cant see a problem in him being an automatic selection. its not like hes been injured for a year and is just walking back in. we know what he can and will do when he plays for QLD. not too sure the same can be said for old justin "gift nsw 2 tries" hodges

What's wrong with that? Who gives a shit if Hodges inclusion would shift Tonga to the centres. You don't just say "Oh Hodges can't play because Tonga doesn't deserve to be moved". You just need to do what's best for the team, Hodges on the wing would be hopeless.

Unless you keep Tonga in the centres and Lote or Vidot on the wing...but meh. The above backline is pretty farking scary.

yeh but why select hodges? what has he done in the last 2 years to warrant selection? tonga is no wing, he is not as confident under the high ball as a specialist winger is, so why weaken one to position just so we can bring in hodges, who is, lets be honest, not as good as tonga right now.

There is something to be said for a combo Hodges/Yow Yeh on the right and the usual Inglis/Boyd combo on the left, because of acquired routines and habits formed at the Broncos and previous Origins. But form needs to warrant it IMO.

Yow Yeh is not ready for Origin IMO. To be honest I don't have a problem with Tuqiri getting a run, the problem there however is that Lote plays left, and thats where Boyd plays outside of Inglis... and I'm not sure we should be separating them.

No drama. Tuqiri has a broken arm.

I agree, and Vidot is definitely not after his first few error ridden performances. id rather hodges on the wing than tonga, so if they want hodges in there somewhere, let him have a crack on the wing

Hodges on the wing, really? [icon_ee

Yeah, Hodges plays right centre or not at all.

If and that is a big If Hodges is fit he will be right centre IMO. Tonga will be shifted to the wing.

he has played fullback in the past, so i trust him under the high ball much more than tonga.

BUT, i dont want him in the team at all. im just saying IF for some stupid reason they feel the need to include him, put him on the wing so tonga still gets the ball occasionally

I hope Tuqiri recovers, he'd be on the wing for sure.

My Origin Backline...

1. Billy Slater
2. Darius Boyd
3. Justin Hodges
4. Greg Inglis
5. Lote Tuqiri

With Tuqiri injured, I'd shift Tonga to left centre and Inglis onto the wing. However, I reckon Yow Yeh would rise to the occasion and wouldn't be against him playing on the right side with Hodges.

Inglis is still too fat to be on the wing IMO. We need speedsters out there. And at the moment, a speedster he ain't.

 There must be something about Tonga that everyone sees but me. Don't get me wrong he is a decent player but IMO his club and Origin form isn't worthy of automatic selection. The last 2 years he's been solid, but the 2 bell-ringers on the Wolfman are the only things that stand out. And at club level, yeh he played well against the Titans but most games he doesn't fire unless Thurston fires, whereas with Hodges there have been a number of occasions where he could hold his head high in a losing side.

Am I saying drop Tonga for Hodges right now? No. What I'm saying is that at this stage, neither are worthy of automatic selection and the right centre position is one that just needs to be picked on form throughout this season. And, without trying to sound bias, Hodges has my vote at the moment.

As for Tuqiri, two words - **** no!

*sigh* I'm already beginning to miss Folau.
