Still don’t get why he keeps getting compared to Webcke. Maybe off the field I can understand the tag but that’s where the similarities end for me. Webcke doesn’t even come close to having the physique, footwork and pace off the mark that Flegler showed tonight. Don’t think I ever recalled Webcke making close to 200 metres in a game either. Completely different player

It's his training and playing style, they would both go so hard and then walk, have a deep breath and go again. Flegler and Webcke both needed to not just follow the ball around like a Under 10.

There is few middle forwards that they (Nolan) seems excited about; Flegler from the Pride had a disrupted season. Then you add in Fifita, Haas, Carrigan and Fai.

Flegler and Fifita were both in the QAS under 18 camp with Richards this year with Carrigan in the 20's.

It's not all the doom being predicted by some.

To be fair I don't think Fai missing was a recruitment issue, he definitely has the frame and talent for it, just clearly lacks the work ethic. A bit of a modern day Molo (Who funnily enough has turned it around a bit and hasn't been too bad for the Cows)

Physically he reminds me of Brad Thorne for some reason. He is probably more agressive than Thorne too. A very exciting prospect indeed.

He’s tall at 1.9 and not as square-solid as Webcke. I see what you mean re Thorn
