Yeah those in-goals are a deathtrap, I'd hate to be chasing for the ball to try to score or push it over the in-goal line.

It even looked like Jimmy Jet pulled up rather than risk an injury going for the try which he could've gotten at one of our grounds.

Freddy: "Hopefully God will bestow us with some good weather". Fucking what? Lol. I wasn't aware "God" controlled the weather.

How much of a dribbler was he this morning. I normally have a bit more tolerance for him than Joey but FMD he was atrocious today. Between admitting he had no idea about Wigan because he hadn't watched any games and could only think of Ellery Hanley when talking about Wigan players, and his nonsensical ramblings about the above, it shows how bad ex-players walking into media jobs can be

Actually I need to make a mention about Blair. I'm a bit disappointed, both in the Nines and again tonight he didn't seem to want to take on the line much. I hope that's more of a "it's not the season yet" rather than his actual attitude because he's thrown some real hospital passes lately instead of just taking the hitup himself. He's putting pressure on others and it's caused some errors, it just doesn't need to happen. Hopefully Bennett snaps him out of that.

/end rant, I'll go back to basking in the win again.

Aware me on how Eden had a good game?

Got gifted two try scoring opportunities and got embarrassingly mowed down on one of them. Seriously embarrassing. Looks like he is over striding or something. Needs a running coach, has some basic toe but seems to lose it when he tries to really stride out. Also, giving up the last try being caught in no man's land running around in circles like a chook with no head when he had a perfect opportunity to shut the ball down? That's not NRL.

Now, compare that with Oates. Always looking for work, lots of hard runs carrying 18 defenders up the middle, some classy in goal takes showing he is developing as a winger. No comparison, really.

Missed Hunt's kicking game at times.

Not sold on James Roberts. Copley had a better game yesterday. Bennett in love with the idea of another Renouf, blinding him to some realities.

What was up with all the soft penalties? I can understand Wallace and Blair giving away one to two penalties a game. Those guys are demonstrating they are un-coachable in this regard. But lots of ill discipline on the penalties tonight. Need to sort that out. Bennett needs to select a leader in the front line who can crack some skulls when words need to said.

Gillett
Milf
Kahu.

Eden worked hard out of our quarter, made some great takes, was hard to tackle on occasions, showed great speed on his second long break. Not sure what the negativity is about.

Roberts didn't get too many chances but did his job. Nice pass back inside for Eden instead of risking it with the side line. probably would've scored off that Niko grabber on a real field. His presence alone allowed Edens try, the defence panic when he cut back in and didn't want to slide across.

but of course you win 48-12 and some posters here will still death ride us.

Eden did have a good game, he made plenty of runs in our own end and was hard to tackle. There is room for improvement which is a good thing. On Roberts game, he was ok and I think if anything the bloke looked a little tired. I will put this down to playing a game last weekend and jumping on a plane to cross the world, to then be jet lagged and commence training then be playing another game in the space of a week. Something I doubt he is use to, not being an international player or being part of a high end team. Lets give him a break it's the preseason. I was happy with the team performance it was very clinical for this time of year. Also Niko is a very good cover for injury to either half which puts us in a very strong position.

To be fair you're comparing him to Oates on the opposite wing..Compare him to how Maranta would've gone on his wing.

This World Club (non) Challenge might need a revamp next year and beyond, particularly if they're thinking about playing it here .. Maybe the poms could start the game as our teams are boarding their planes to fly over there? It's worth considering ...

Biggest thing I took from watching this morning was how the squad is a notch or three ahead of where it was this time last year ..

The Wallace and gillet tries got me most excited. Excellent ball playing. And boy have we got some speed now. I think Milford will carve up this season. Ben hunt will wanna be on his game with knik improving the way he is.

Agree with most of the above posts.

I am just curious why there seemed to be no set plays involving Roberts.

I so hope Gillett continues to be given opportunities to run those great lines this year.

I think you won't be able to carry a utility on the bench this year. Nikorimia is deserving of a spot but I don't think you can use a interchange getting him on for what could be 10 minutes or not at all.

Front row would be the only specialist spot I would carry and then mobile versatile forwards.

I think it works if Macca stays on and plays a lock-type role. But Kodi would have to play a minimum 20-25 mins to make it worthwhile carrying him on the bench.

Dude. . Your attitude sucks. You're such a negative person. You'd be an absolute awful coach

I think we definitely have a spot for Niko still. Most of our forwards, second row especially, can play massive minutes. Corey can probably still play the full 80.

look how much Niko tore the forwards up when they started to tire. Imagine him coming on in the last 20 mins with fresh legs. I thibk a lot of points can be scored through his inclusion.

Huge mention to those players that are regularly hated. Wallace, waddell and macca. Had awesome games!

Waddell broke some tackles and had an impact when he came on (not saying he had a blinder but did his job)

Wallace ran some nice lines, scored a try and played decent minutes. Wallace needs to still cut back the penalties but so do everyone else. (Gillett gave away more but it doesn't matter when they defend it.)

Thaiday is looking fit! He seemed to have some extra speed i haven't seen from him in a while. Put on some awesome shots, had hard runs. One momentin the game when he'd just came on really, he made a tackle put on the left hand side of the field (4th tackle), then put in a huge effort to charge the ball down on the opposite side of the field - chased it down and got momentum for his team by defusing their attacking kick. Huge play.

Macca had a brilliant game. I've been saying it this preseason, without Hodges stealing his thunder from dummy half, he now has the freedom to really make the position his own. Chose great times to run and grab metres, had at least one very good kick early in the count that put us in a great position to start our defense 10 out from their line.

Even boyd played with a new dimension.. had a couple of nice grubber kicks - one leading to a try, the other a line drop out.

Milf and niko really impressed me. They controlled the game really well. Good kicks in play. Elements i thought they'd struggle with but wow they stepped up.

Parker's goal kicking was perfect. 6 from 6.

**** the haters. That was an impressive preseason game!

Roberts was quiet but i knew that'd happen. Give him a while, don't put too much pressure on him to blow everyone away... It'll take time
