There is a report out that Taumalolo and 7 other NZ eligible players will elect to play for Tonga, in protest (essentially) over Kidwell banning Bromwich and Proctor for the world cup. they reportedly believe Kidwell is being too harsh on them given their fines/suspensions from their clubs

Good. Unlike the kiwis, our coach will black ball them from the national setup for life. Origin should be included as well. Its an honour to play for us.
Bloke is a penalty magnet anyways. More honest front rowers out there deserve a chance. Also, good luck getting paid the big bucks to play for Tonga like you would the aussies.

it was reported that while the Aussies and Kiwi's get around 30k per match ... the Tongans will get 3k for the tournament + $30 a day

Fifita is only "passionate" about representing Tonga because he knows the are a tier 2 nation and it won't affect his origin eligibility.
