Worst ever Broncos XIII

Name me a worse winger than Vidot.

As mentioned:

Eden, Maranta, Manihera, Bott (arguable I guess), Robinson, Pearson (up until now, though I rate him), Copley (again arguable but anyway), Michaels, Tupou (for this side) and that is just off the top of my head.

Was Michaels really a bad winger for us? He only started sucking after his ACL recovery in 09, and he was pretty much only in the centres then. I thought he was quite good for us on the wing.

Yeah probably fair enough. I remember seeming to think he looked alright at some point and then just seemed to completely suck suddenly. Would make sense.

Eden- Deservedly didn't get much of a chance but will end up achieving much more in the game.

Maranta- Much more useful than Vidot and Bennett agreed.

Manihera- Agreed.

Bott- At least he had some speed.

Robinson- Not great in a Bronco jersey but turned out to be the better player and still has a career.

Pearson- Much too early to tell.

Copley- Are you serious???

Michaels- Was lethal early in his career. Primarily a centre anyways. Much better player.

Tupou- Agreed. Both were of the same mould, big and useless.

Only my opinions of course but I was ecstatic when WB released him. It's embarrassing that he actually wore a Bronco jersey more than 50 times.

You can't be serious. At the very least Vidot made good meters at the start of our sets.

That's all he did though when he wasn't dropping the ball. Maranta's weaknesses are well documented but he was a much safer player and again, is still employed. Which removalist company is Vidot working for?

Oh please.
Maranta dropped the ball as often, if not more as him, and was only safe defending bombs. Besides, Vidot has achieved much more in his career than Maranta ever will. He even fails at fucking Yawnion!

Let’s not forget, Vidot was quite close to origin selection at one point reportedly.

Pet

Peter Wallace was very good for us

Andrew McCullough MKI

Yep he certainly was at times. I remember in one of those seasons messed up by Lockyer's knee pop, Wallace carried the Broncs.

No he didn't.....we needed him too and he couldn't. Other tackling, he was fucken bog average.

Tupou (for this side)

15 tries in 25 games, 13 from 18 in 2006 suggests otherwise..

He was more of a threat than what Vidot was and he had a better strike rate. Vidot might have made a lot of metres (which isn't what wingers are there for), but when it came to a wingers primary job, he sucked.

During his time at the Raiders.

He then skipped playing for Samoa so he could play for QLD and was overlooked. QLD didn't want him.

All of the other times he couldn't play for QLD, because the eligibility rules were different.

Let's put this in perspective, I'm not saying he was one of our best wingers, he was nowhere near it but he wasn't horrible either. He was average but definitely not close to our worst winger ever, not when you consider guys like Eden, Manihera and Robinson are available.

Yep, he had bad hands, but he was fantastic at making metres out of our own end, especially when our front row wasn't particularly good outside of Parker and McGuire.

with reference to bad wingers, where does Minto rate?

I recall one highlight, that extra time time try dive against the Storm, but not much else?
