Yes currently winning with a nearly 2:1 margin (not that it matters because it's all pie in the sky stuff). Quite a few big Dave fans amongst us.

decent voter turnout too, 80 and counting.

It's a bit like Walsh. I don't think we necessarily need him, but if the opportunity arose at the right price, you'd have to pull the trigger. For me that price isn't much more than 500K though. I think we could put him to better use than the Titans currently are, and he'd be a different player with us, but he's not worth his current price tag.

There's no way we get him for Walsh money, though; that was just some crazy good fortune that we are not usually a party to. So the chances of Fifi coming back to us as well I'd suggest are slim to none.

Yes - with the following caveats:
  • 600k
  • Capewell, Carrigan and Reynolds bark at him all the time to keep him on game (defensive focus)
  • He leans up and gets his fitness into shape (needs to be capable of 60mins at pace)

Yes. Also a public apology for leaving would get him over the line with me.

If price was right, absolutely. I think he would give us punch in a position where we have none. Neither Capewell or Riki is a threat with ball in hand.

And I know he can be inconsistent. But the opposition would have to man up on him every time, cos they don't know if he'll go nuts or do nothing. At the moment, they just have to slide cos we have no threat there. He could be our version of Kikau.

Agree with you on Riki .
Capewell has been creative on his side though .

Only on the stipulation someone holds his family ransom before each game so he actually puts in.
@Smokin' Joe owes us one I think (given his ill-fated guarantee)

This,. I voted unsure. I was devastated when he left, but seeing him be a passenger at the Titans has shown he is not worth the money he is on and we did the right thing not increasing our offer over $800K. However, if we got him back at the right price, under $500 you'd have to take it.

No more than 700k for mine, which means I don’t think we will get him because he’s a gamebreaking forward and I reckon there will be a club more desperate than us at that price.

A Badel double page spread complete with quotes along the lines of, “Sorry, I stuffed up, I will never leave again” should do it.

He needs to go to a club that can develop him into being a consistent 80 minute performer, he never really got that and then was being paid 1.2m to be that guy at the Titans

Tbh I’m pretty surprised that people are saying he’s worth700-800k. I wouldn’t take him back for more than 600k.
Yes, I agree, that is the max you would go. His agent can get off his arse and try and get 1 or more 3rd party agreements.

Bali tourist board perhaps, or some security company.

Huh? In this thread?

1 person voted at any cost and no one else has mentioned anything in the 700-800k bracket you refer?

I don’t hate players that leave us but his form dropped immensely when he left and I’m not sure he’s motivated to get it back. If we do get him back he needs to do more than run every time he gets the ball. He is a bigger ball hog than Herbie and part of the reason Oates stopped getting the ball.

Not sure why fans have resentment towards Fifita. Titans are clowns and offered him a ridiculous amount of money. He would've be a fool to turn it down. Besides, he was at the end of his contract. Had every right to look elsewhere. He wasn't a pos about it and tried to get out early etc.

The Turncoates saga was worse than Fifita's in my opinion. Rejected our contract renewal and took unders to scurry off to the storm. Pathetic. It's almost poetic that the storms cracks are starting to appear this season. Once Bellamy is gone in a couple years time it'll get worse too. I'm sure they'll still be a top (4'ish) team for the foreseeable future. But will probably never be as dominate as they once were.
