Sooo many starts but no one got close to making a ton.

Was the pitch playing up or lack of concentration from the batsmen?

If the pitch isnt doing much then we better hope the bowling stands up, because any score that England get will come quickly.

They move through a test so quickly that they could have 400+ on the board by lunch day 3 or even 350 by the end of day 2

If Australia bowl well, given England need to take risks, Australia could run through them pretty comfortably but Australia haven't been bowling well.

Frustrating day, it's not a totally shocking position to be in but if one batsmen who got a start went on with it we'd have pretty well secured the Ashes.

Look at the dismissals. I don't think the batting has been hard, it's just been poor. Marnus has gotten out to some real nothing balls.

Australia just kept missing straight ones but let's not pretend like England are an amazing batting line up though. They have guys who will pull something out of their butts occasionally but a lot of mediocrity in between. They do have Root of course but he traditionally doesn't do that well against Aus.
