OFFICIAL Xavier Coates Leaves Broncos

BTW ... if it is being announced today, that means he signed at least 10 days ago, before the Titans win and his supposed trip to Melborune to "Inspect" their facilities
Someone talked about isaako’s body language after scoring tries, well Coates wasn’t losing his mind either over his try.

We already have our replacement for Coates, Herbie Farnworth. He is a much, much better winger than he is a center. I'd be looking to get Coates off the books now along with Dearden and bring in Hoeter and another center if possible. Maybe Brendan Frei for a bit of back row depth. The talent is there in ISC if we give them an opportunity. If we can organise a trade for B.Smith then all the better. We arent making finals anyway this year so look for a stop gap back and prepare for 2022.

You keep bringing up this Hoeter guy. I think we should be signing him just on the strength of your convictions.

Wow that hurts.
We are going to have some money to spend next year.
Again, no point in producing and spending time/money on these young blokes.
Hope he gets dropped. Man up kev.

It's a bit of a farce when a team like Melbourne who have been the benchmark for god knows how long can simply recruit the incumbent QLD winger for less money than the club who just got the wooden spoon

The salary cap is intended to make it an even playing field, how's it even when Melbourne can take rep players away from wooden spooners for less money?

I also wonder if the NRL will scrutinize how much a current SOO winger has signed on for..nah jokes, we all know that isn't happening.

Imagine if we were in Melbourne's position and recruited someone like Luciano Leilua from the Tigers, for less money

There'd be a meltdown

Because without a Draft to ensure the best talent coming up is funnelled into the sides who finish the previous seasons poorly, you actually make it continually more difficult for them as they remain undesirable places to want to play, leading to them needing to pay overs to recruit the same guy as an elite club, and in this case even overs didn't work.

Have a look at the guys on top of the AFL Ladder right now and then have a look at what the Ladder looked like 3-5 years ago. Now compare that to how the NRL Ladder has functioned for the last 15 years.

I'm not saying he would be a world beater, but i'm not the only one who is amazed he has never got himself an opportunity at NRL level. His age ( 27 ) would probably put a lot of clubs off, but i think he would cut it in the NRL. At worst he would be good backline cover.

Really get puzzled sometimes how some players just never seem to get the chance. Josh Cleeland and Nat Neale are another couple i can think of who just have never made a break through despite ( imo anyway ) them being good players.

I just recall Delousie's name being called by Salty, but i can't recall him playing.
