OFFICIAL Xavier Coates Leaves Broncos

Let him go and chase Suliasi Vunivalu. He’s already in Brisbane

Come on, that is rugby Australia's entire budget.
Do they even have a cap? I always assumed they passed the hat around outside Suncorp and whatever they got was the players contract. "Good news Vunivalu, we got you 47 bucks and 3 buttons".

If Coates isn’t selected today, we will know

If he is going to Melbourne, and @1910 is right about the sort of money that Storm are paying, can you explain to me how they get that past the salary cap auditors paying a current SOO winger that sort of money??

Two words - Broncos Storm

yeah exactly a player has to be purchased at market price. One could argue that an origin winger should be earning far more than what is thought to have been offered

I have actually had a boost in confidence today that he will stay. Apparently bellamy has been quite hesitant by staying another year as he feels less passionate about coaching - or something along those lines. Personally I believe this touring report was bullshit and the idea of him going to the storm was because they were certain bellamy is staying. However, that is not necessarily the case. This brings me to also think would Coates leave for one year under bellamy. Like I'm not arguing Walters is a better coach but would you go for the year with Bellamy hoping to get your potential out of it or stay. Like I understand he may not be keen on the broncos but he has said he wants to stay for 'life'. Just something to consider with how untrue these reports are these days

Isaako has scored a hellva lot more points than him, does that make him elite as well?
Outside the thread I know but, am I imagining things or was there something 'odd' about Isaako's body language, even after scoring, on Friday night.

In what way?

Which try? The second one it seemed like he was saying 'get that into ya and **** yes' which I thought was pretty good. I thought he had a great game and contrary to a lot I don't blame him for the magic results the Titans got from their grubbers. In fact I saw a few others scored in similar fashion over the last couple weeks and a good grubber is very hard to defend. I just think that 15 minutes was a perfect storm.

Best word I can find is deadpan while rest of the boys going nuts, even after the second try ... maybe it's just me seeing things that aren't there.
I noticed it too, maybe trying to keep things in check considering thesituation. Tbf I noticed it in a few of them .

He's gone. Being reported he's signing for two years for less money than the Broncos offered. Not surprising after Dearden left. Something is rotten in the state of Denmark.
