I know Facebook is just for fun; but to believe one pl;ayer makes up for 80 minutes is so ignorant, it makes me wonder if they are all closet Titans fans.

I don't have Facebook, but i am guessing they are anti-Ashton Sims groups?

What a sad life you must lead to make one of those groups. [icon_non

Anyone who subscribes to them with the intention of just outright bagging the guy has no right to even associate themselves as Bronco supporters and anyone on the forum who sinks to that level I will lose automatic respect for them.

I saw and there all really harsh

i hope ashton doesnt see any of these. you cant blame a guy for making a mistake! mistakes happen! if he had of gone out there and played shit coz he couldnt be fucked or something, then hate on him for sure, but you cant blame a guy when he tried his guts out.

Exactly PWA. Pretty sure every Bronco made some sort of unforced error against the Storm. At least Sims' was a forced error.

Fucking deplorable act in the creation of those groups.

Broncos rally around battered Sims

TEAMMATES are rallying around Brisbane forward Ashton Sims after his NRL finals error - and just as well.

He will need all the support he can get if he logs onto social networking site Facebook.

Not one but four anti-Sims groups have been formed just days after the Broncos were bundled out of the NRL finals race by Melbourne.

One of the harshest group names that can be printed was "Should the Broncos sack Ashton Sims for ruining the 2008 season".

Someone make the 'We still love ya Simsy, and all those people in the I hate Aston groups are the loads there Mums should have swallowed" or something to that effect.

So like.. I hear Melbourne has jumped straight on board and signed Ashton Sims. They've figured out already that he can win matches for them and he can do it in big game pressure situations. Sounds like a good signing to me. [icon_wink

I would never join these groups and feel for Sims cause he has been made the scapegoat for the Broncos loss.

But Sims is a professional athlete and I hardly doubt people creating groups on facebook would bother him. The media tear these playersto shreds every week so a few groups on facebook I dont think will really bother him.

Dont get me wrong I feel for Sims and hate to think how he is feeling right now but his biggest obstacle will be his own head and being able to persoanlly overcome his mistake and not blame himself. I hope this event in his career will see him bust a gut next year and the rest of his career and live up to his potential.

I feel for you Ashton but keep your head up and use this to become a better player in the future.

Obviously Ashton didn't lose the match for the Bronx even though his error was critical as well as the 15 other errors committed by the boys during the game. I think the reason why Sims is getting bagged so much about it is because his handling errors were a common occurence throughout the season, he managed to play every game this season committing 1.5 errors per game, had a 74% tackling efficiency and failed to even muster 1 line break and gained a mere 69 metres per game at less than 7 m per hit up, to me that is a pretty poor season which is a shame because he is amazingly fit and is built like a footballer and his passion is unparallelled but unfortunately his ability isn't first grade standard at this stage, Dave Taylor would have been a much better option, 7 line breaks in limited oppurtunities, averaged 12 m per hitup and as we all know can be a gamebreaker among other things, a wonderful player with a bit to learn yet, I admit.
What Ashton has on his side is that he is fairly young (23) and has time to improve but I don't blame some Bronco fans for being bitter because Ashton was a massive underachiever this season (as he was in St. George) and if he doesn't sort that out soon, his first grade career will be extinguished.

Kelsey you have nailed it, he is young. A gut with his build won't begin to hit his straps probably until he's 25+ and then he'll play til he's 24 a la Brad Thorn. All he needs to blossom is our support, he's got mine.
