Your QLD team

Papalii has been poor in the front row, since they moved him back to 2nd row he's been slowly getting back to his form of a few years ago.

besides, you need some people that are gonna hurt when tackling, we need some intimidation, napa and papali should help with that.

DCE over Hunt for mine purely because I don't think there's a lot of difference between the two for an interchange utility and DCE hasn't ever let us down as a utility. It's his spot until he gets injured/Cronk retires, in which case Hunt gets the role.

Ironically he's only ever let us down as a half!

Does this series mark Gillett's last shot at Origin?

I doubt he'll make the squad this year, but yes, it is, he's been average for the most part of the last season and a half. Not to mention QLD has a lot of high quality backrowers coming through.

Boyd, Hodges, Thaiday, McGuire. That's not as bad as I initially thought.

Injuries permitting...

1. Slater
2. Boyd
3. Inglis
4. Hodges
5. Chambers
6. Thurston
7. Cronk
8. Scott
9. Smith
10. Myles
11. Guerra
12. Thaiday
13. Parker

14. Hunt
15. Gillett
16. McGuire
17. Lillyman

18. Napa

I think Napa is a bit raw to go straight in just yet, but it would be a good idea to bring him into the fold at least.

Mal made it clear that there isn't going to be many changes.

Taking that on face value that may mean we'll see the following side...

1. Billy Slater
2. Darius Boyd
3. Greg Inglis
4. Justin Hodges
5. Will Chambers
6. Johnathan Thurston
7. Cooper Cronk
8. Mat Scott
9. Cameron Smith (c)
10. Nate Myles
11. Aidan Guerra
12. Sam Thaiday
13. Corey Parker

14. Daly Cherry-Evans
15. Jacob Lillyman
16. Matt Gillett
17. David Taylor

With Scott returning from injury to replace Te'o.

I assume Lillyman and Taylor's spot will be under jeopardy, but that will be close to the final squad and wouldn't be too surprised to see either retained.

I thought the same thing heading into the 2014 series, especially after his 2012 yet there he was.

Well we lost last year. Plus Napa and McGuire have become better players.

Put it this way -- if we pick him ahead of McGuire, or Napa, or even Grevsmuhl, then we deserve to lose.

Just putting it out there , but has Nate Myles really done enough lately to be an automatic selection ? Tough competitor and all, but not really a terribly damaging runner or skillful ball player. At least with Dave Taylor ,there is more potential for a big line bust or magic off load and yes also for some boofhead errors.

I think this is Nate Myles's last year in rep football.

He is in no way now, or recently, being effective enough to be an automatic selection anymore.

He always seems to lift for QLD though. Was one of our better players last year while Matt Scott was kinda turd.

The selectors may see it differently.

The video reveals their mindset.

Now Taylor may end up getting dropped but we're not going to see too many changes to that 17 unless injuries force Mal's hand.

I'd be surprised if we saw more than two total.

Maybe it's just because I'm an ass, but didn't anyone else find it funny that they chose Mal to be the face of a healthy eating campaign?

Meninga runs a bunch of fruit stores so it isn't like they just picked some former League star who let themselves go.

Do as I teach, not as I do.

Parker is a certainty too. Don't rule Gillett out, I have a feeling he's in the Maroon's long term plans and is just warming up.

I'd have Myles there just to fire up the whingeing Blues. Let Nate charge in head first, break a few skulls, then watch NSW give away retribution penalties all match.

Myles has never let Qld down. Unless he goes to shit pretty quick, he'll be there for a while still. After all he's only 29 (soon 30)...

I don't believe Taylor will get another reprieve. He's just too brain snap prone, and those are the kind of things that can cost a series!
