Well I guess I have a different opinion to most of you

Positives

1. Henjaks coaching, IMO a revelation this season.
I stopped reading right there... [icon_non

I particularly love Henjak's fabulous work with our front row, both in attack and defence, just fantastic stuff! [icon_ee

I guess it's easier to be critical sitting in an armchair.

Yeh but the thing that shits me is that the Wallace-baggers don't remember how good he can be.
it doesnt matter how good he CAN be when he only plays that well for 2-3 games out of 26 a year - and thats seriously all its been.

iirc you are one of the biggest Carl Webb haters, are you not? well we've all seen how good he can be, and even with how inconsistent he was/is, he played more than 2-3 great games a year. same with Crocker iirc?

there comes a time when you have to look at the facts and stop with the 'but, but, but's. he has had 3 whole seasons with the Broncos, and in that time hasnt even played a dozen good halfbacks games. its looking increasingly likely that the Peter Wallace we see now is all he'll ever be. Shaun Berrigan played a couple of blinders at halfback, but that was no reason to keep him there for another 2 seasons, was it? same with Ben Walker. its looking like its the same with Wallace. time to cut our losses and either find him a new position, or find him a new club.

It's all well and good for the haters to sit here and criticise, but how about offering up some solutions?

The situation is a lot more complex than just 'buy a better half'. To let go of Wallace we would more than likely have to continue to pay the remaining 3(?) years of his contract. I'm sure we are now walking a fair tight rope regarding our salary cap. A quality half of the standard everyone is demanding would be in excess of 300k a season.

One of the best young halves on the market this year was Hodgkinson, and he's turned to crap at the back end. Wallace has been playing better than him. Barba is not the style of half we are after. Ben Hunt has become an important part of our bench rotation (I'm nearly 100% certain Macca has been playing injured all year) and is probably still a while off being able to play 80 minutes in the 7 jumper.

Burg....it's rigorous, rigours. Riggers work on buildings, oil rigs etc.

Every reporter who predicted we would not make the eight, well they were right !!! How you can somehow spin that to look like the opposite is amazing lol.( we almost proved them wrong, miss by a millimetre, miss by a light year, no difference)

Recruitment !!

1...it was only a bloody accident we got Tronc...!!!! It had nothing to do with astute recruitment....you must be kidding. They didn't plan for it to happen , it simply fell in their lap.

2...The only reason(s) we got Hannant and Inglis is because they had no other choice if they wanted to play NRL and ply their trade in Brisbane. Simple dumb luck and in no way is a reflection on Brisbanes ability to recruit under Ivan Henquack. I'd say Henquack is an impediment to attracting players to Brisbane. Another down side to losing WB.

I see no great positives this season other than the ones we normally get from blooding players for the future. Something we did every year anyway. I see plenty of negatives starting with missing the finals, failing to attract players, breeding a losing culture and losing, soiling our reputation. Playing the Broncs these days is just another game for most clubs. Now we are also rans. Thanks Bruno and Ivan. Pair of clowns as useful as ugly lesbians.

Just a question for anyone who regularly attends QLD Cup games, especially those involving one of the thousand Broncos feeder clubs. Have you ever noticed Ivan Henjak there watching the games?

I only ask because I've been to 3 or 4 in the last 2 seasons and I've not noticed Henjak there once. Nor anyone else recogniseable from the Broncos' coaching camp. A few first grade players supporting their mates, but that's it.

When Bennett was around he was a regular.

I just wonder if Henjak doesn't appear much at the lower grade games, and if that's the case, if maybe the players who get demoted don't feel much motivation to perform...and that in turn leads to complacency when they get to the top grade, because it's not like they feel they have to "repay the coach for seeing something in me".

It could just be a perception thing, I'm sure Henjak keeps close tabs on all the squad, but still...it's something I've noticed but I haven't been to enough games to be sure it's a consistent thing.

Dunno but I read in the paper that a few young Broncos were at a QLD cup game on Sunday, they were on the piss..

I know it is irrelevant whatever I say, you will be oppose to it, not sure why, maybe you should buy a dog, walk barefoot in the grass or get a hug from your mom, either way you need something in your life besides sarcasm and hate.

Plenty of reporters suggested that South’s would make the Top 4 and the Sharks and Cowboys would make the 8 and the Raiders would be last, they were not right on that, what’s your point?

Beside the fact that it’s my opinion and I couldn’t care less what you think. It’s people like you that ran clubs like the North Sydney Bears, Balmain and Illawarra. The Bronco’s are in far better hands than yours.

I went to most Dolphins home games this year and a couple of games at Langlands Park and didn't see him there once.

Hell burg...I would never have a counter view simply to disagree with you. I would also fight for your right to hold a view counter to mine. It is that important. All I'm clumsily saying is I cannot see the same positives from this season as you do.
Chill and take no heed of my remarks, they are simply not personal. You are obviously more of an optimist than I and that does not invalidate your view. There may be traces of sarcasm in my reply but definitely no hate. icon_smile

Hmmm eusa_think

I was somewhat surprised when I was at Norths vs Easts a few weeks ago, two of our major feeder clubs, with Setu, Sims, Anderson all playing and Henjak wasn't there.

He was probably in the bouncy castle.

We're pretty much all armchair critics. What's the difference between you criticising Wallace and me criticising Henjak?

I must be missing something - I thought Setu was out with a broken jaw? So is he not available for the Raiders game?

A few weeks is probably more like 6 weeks now. He broke his jaw after that game.

Positives for the season 2010:
That I wasn't on BHQ to listen to the same crap/different day _woohoo_
Israel Folau playing so awesome.
Matt Gillett & Josh Hoffman

Negatives for the season 2010:

- the more I review the past couple of seasons the more I start to wonder if it wasn't Karmichael Hunt who made Peter Wallace play better? Hunt's positioning rather than Wallace's passing game imo lead to a much more stable attacking platform??
- watching the talent of Israel Folau and weeping knowing that he could be so much more than an aerial ping pong player.

I particularly love Henjak's fabulous work with our front row, both in attack and defence, just fantastic stuff! [icon_ee

I'd like to see most coaches get something out of Tronc, Kenny, Anderson, McGuire, Dodds and Sims. I really would.

Wouldn't be that hard really, That is an awesome pack if used the right way and if all players play to what we know they can.

The solid starters

8. Kenny
10. Tronc

The Impact players

14. Sims
15. Anderson

The young heads

19. Dodds
20. Mcguire

Awesome? Yeah maybe in the Queensland Cup but in the NRL it's a whole other kettle of fish.
