In my view, that loss is down to Parker's kicking and Griffin. Absolutely shit idea to play Gillett If you are going to place a forward out there (and I think the sun has set on that whole idea) it should have been Glenn.

Matt Gilletts defence in the centres was as much to blame as Pakrers' kicking.

Pretty sure petero came on with about 7 mins left after small mins at the start. Macquire was my motm. Capewell was crap and anderson probably had his best game for us.

He seems to think of Gillett as a Mr. Fix-it man. Played him in the centres, played him at 5/8th... Gillett is just a back rower at this stage.

Is Perry still available, because Hunt is seriously the worst halfback ever to play for the Broncos. He should just pass to a footballer because he isn't, and please never let him KICK EVER AGAIN

I am not sure if you are serious?? Hunts kicking game was woeful but his general play was pretty good.

I have to agree. Great player, but not to play anywhere past lock.

I think Capwell has played his one and only game for the Broncos. Right from the 3rd min I could tell that the Broncos were never gonna be in this game.

Umm, never in this game? We were in it until 79mins...

And Hunt's vision was great tonight, but his execution was awful. He's been playing at hooker forever, so I think he should be forgiven as he's been taken out of that playmaking and kicking role for so long that it's unfair to blame some poor execution.

And I agree with Brizz, Gillett was awful in defence tonight. Absolutely awful.

I thought besides Hunts kicking he was quite good tonight. We need to remember this guy despite 50 games the vast majority of them are off the bench as a hooker he is still very new to 80 minute first grade and isn't used to playing as the 7 in the last few years.

The biggest positive about Hunt is that Norman seems to play a LOT better than when he plays with Wallace. :p

Why? We would have won if it wasn't for Parker's goal kicking. Fact. No doubt about it. How can you not attribute the blame directly on his goal kicking?

We would have won if Gillett had tackled Matai a few times. We would have won if our goal line defence wasn't as sloppy as it was.

And playing devil's advocate, say Parker slots his first kick.. the whole dynamics of the game change from that point in anyway. Who knows where it would have ended up.

Yeah, that's what I meant. He looks much more comfortable with Hunt, there is more ball movement, and he even plays on both sides of the field.

Haha Ari we are thinking on the same wave length!

We have lost two straight against last years two grand finalists.

The Warriors were great and played hard fast footy for 80 minutes and also had a big rub of the green and we still managed to keep it relatively tight, sometimes you lose no one ever goes undefeated.

Tonight we were the better side without Wallace who is our leader in tertms of the way we play and without our best "off the cuff" attacking waepon in Hodges and with Gillett in the centres gifting Manly two tries and with Parker having a nightmare with the boot. Manly played bloody well to hang in there and sadly pinch this one, but otherwise it was a quality performance despite some crap elements.

In no way should we be in any way disheartened by the last two weeks now. Griffin can see where we are and see where those two teams are, its early days and we will be in it with a chance come September because we more athletic, strong and enthusiastic than any other side and we will only get better the longer they all play together.

But kicks at goal are FREE points where the opposition has absolutely NO control over whether the player kicks the goal or not. Also, kicking a goal is PURELY up to a single player. Nothing to do with the players around him.

Much different to Gillett not tackling Matai. You can just blame Gillett for the loss for example because there were many things that occurred after Matai's run, and other things may have attributed to Gillett's miss in the first place.

Yeah but to say the loss was "purely" Parker's fault goes too far. There were other factors that contributed to us losing the game.

I hate Manly...so much.

I hate losing to Manly...so much...

****ING COREY ****ING PARKER! He's always been dodgy from the sidelines but that last attempt was shit. He hardly even bothered to go through his routine.

Hunt and Norman were amazing tonight, awesome kicking. Broncs attack was brilliant but ordinary defence.

Norman yes, but I thought Hunt was abysmal. Absolutely abysmal. Defended strongly, but he was horrible in attack. Just woeful.

We were beaten in the backs. Pure and simple. Our outside 3 defenders on both sides got carved up repeatedly. It was plain as day. Whether it was Cherry Evans or Glenn Stewart, Manly were using good footwork on our third man in, getting on the outside, putting our centres in 2 minds, and with our wingers so deep it created HUGE inroads. First try was scored that way, last try was setup that way.

Sadly Gillett in particular was found out in defence out wide. Kinda wish the Broncos had called up someone like Whitchurch to play when Hodges was out. But hey, that's 20-20 hindsight.

Alex Glenn is our safest option in the centres when Hodges is out. The bloke is pretty safe and is a handy runner of the ball.

Yeah, but he was one who got caught out 3-in a couple of times tonight.
