It's not Slater bashing. It's discussion on what motivated Graham to do something (allegedly) out of character.

I don't think it's out of character a bulldogs fan on the Bulldogs forum so he tried the chomp a few weeks ago, but missed.

I realise that (read my post again).

The ref didn't make a comment about the knees, though I'd suggest he would have if the fight hadn't occured afterwards.

Lots of people are saying what graham did is "out of character", but how many of us actually know what he is like? I for one have only this season to go off and from what ive seen he is a dirty pom who will do anything to get an advantage (vaseline on the legs). Unless of course you have watched his super league games subsbligh, in which case i apologise, but what are you basing his "character" on

The ref referred it upstairs and they looked at all of it, I honestly don't think Slater could have done anything more than he did.

It was after he scored that the dogs players thought he used his knees.

after? immediately after the frame AP showed, slater rolls over the top of inu and lands outside the field of play. he doesn't do anything "after" he tries to stop the try. :S

Can we go back 2 or 3 frames - just kidding.

Looked worse in full speed and in my minds eye, though I still stand by Slater's tendency to lead with the knees and legs. I agree with Coxy's comment that Inu would have pushed Slater out of the way regardless and most fullbacks would cop that.

Either way counsel I have nothing else to justify Graham's behaviour.

I haven't. In fact it's only the second or third game I've watched of the Dogs this year. That's why I went for "allegedly". The old Mike Tyson might be common place in the Northern Hemisphere.

how many times has slater been penalised for leading with the knees and legs? once? twice maybe? he used to slide in feet first whenever he could because it was a legitimate tackle and he saved NUMEROUS tries because of it by getting his feet/legs under the ball and theyre unable to ground it. as soon as the NRL outlawed it hes probably done it once or twice, no more than any other fullback.

Wasnt having a go at u for the record. Im just hearing heaps of this "out of character" stuff floating around in regards to this, and its out of the mouths of people, who at best, have only seen him play this year

Inu anger at late hits led to melees

I was probably the instigator," Inu said when asked of last night's incident, which came after Melbourne fullback Billy Slater slid in on Perrett as the Bulldog scored his team's only try of the match.

"I was up for the moment. I think every time one of our boys dived in the corner there's always something involved. I wasn't taking it this time."

Inu pushed Slater to the ground, even though replays showed Slater had done nothing wrong after the try, and that is when things got out of control.

How many other fullbacks were penalised during the past 5 years for leading with the knees and legs?

It might have been a legitimate way of defending a try (i.e. kicking the ball from an attacking players hands) but kicking someone in the face has always been illegal.

Slater kicked him in the face lolz.

it was more a diving shoulder charge commando roll type of tackle thing

Again, arguing infinitum about a tangent to the central debate seems to be a way that AP argues (and arguing from ignorance "if you can't prove me wrong, then I am right").

The rules about leading with the feet were changed because of Slater's tactics.

Therefore it is reasonable to state that Slater has a propensity to lead with the feet. A greater propsenity than other fullbacks.

Therefore it is reasonable that he was more likely to have lead with the knees on Perrett(but I accept that isn't the case now after seeing the still frame).

At about the 1.46 min mark, no kicking in the face from Slater.

Not sure if this belongs here but it is GF discussion.

Next year or soon after the commission surely have to get the Qcup and NSWRL winners to play each other on GF day.

There are several ways to make it happen. Having the 2 winners meet is simple but it would be hard to get back up for another GF after winning your local comp.

Another way is to have a final 8 made up from the 4 top sides from both comps making sure the respective state sides play each other. So essentially have a final 4 and you would have to beat your local sides first which makes you premiers of the local comp then play for an interstate final on GF day. A total of 4 weeks finals.

GF day would be under 20s, interstate GF then the big one.
