Kangaroos vs. Kiwis

Hoffman is a fine fullback. With proper halves. Unfortunately (and in no way his fault), he's stuck with 2 barely FG standard guys at the Broncos, so his style just doesn't suit the team.

Completely disagree. Hoffman has been great running the ball but I swear he hasn't passed the ball once all night. The reason why is because he's not a fullback, and the first few rounds have shown that.

Glenn's defence has been very ordinary tonight.

Also what I would give to have Foran at the Broncos.

He would have to wear gaffa tape on his mouth. He is always complaining to the ref. (Seems like Tovey has taught him well.)

He had an overlap at one point and decided to run it - criminal for a fullback.

Pretty ordinary game.

Kiwis were the better side for the first 40 but simply didn't score enough points. Thought their momentum was too stop start. Two big boppas through the middle, inside ball to a big boppa then a sluggish spread left or right without enough shape. Still earned the right to score more points than they did but a few last minute blues prevented them from doing so.

On the other hand, Australia basically just coasted and then eventually ran riot when the game reached it's peaked. Lewis once again proved vital and Gallen was throwing some good (but questionable) passes.

Broncos were all impressive, hope they all take something out of this game and move forward.

On Hoffman, it was a good performance but a very typical performance I thought.

Started really well, looked sharp, was bouncing out of tackles and looking to make an impact with each run. Thought he had a couple nice touches too, put through a nice grubber for a repeat set and provided the extra man on a few occasions but he couldn't keep the form up. Eventually he began to second guess himself and stopped going for the pass and I thought his efforts on GI and Lewis were ordinary. In saying that, I did think the commentators made it out to be much worse than what it really was. It was clear the ricochet on Slater turned Hoffman inside out and that basically left him out at sea. Also credit where it's due, his defence on the second Lewis break was great.

The performance didn't put Norman's position at fullback in jeopardy but I didn't think it was anything to sneeze at either. The truth is, he was on a hiding to nothing regardless.

Does Slater offer anything at rep footy? He's almost as bad as Hodges, good at club level but mediocre at rep level.

It was a good winger's performance. It was just a shame for the Kiwis he was playing fullback.

He didn't do a lot wrong in defence (other than his laziness on the Inglis try), but his attack was... poor. He ran hard, and finished that try well on half time, but he went himself too often, and the one time he did pass it resulted in a dropped ball. He just has NO idea in attack if there's more than 1 option.

Was a game of 2 halves tonight a tight 1st half and a dominant second. The Kangaroos must've been reading my thoughts cause I knew if we lifted our game we were gonna be to strong. Was very impressed with the performance our best players imo were

3: Cameron Smith
2: Paul Gallen
1: Luke Lewis

I feel pretty bad for the likes of Bromwich and Matulino. Both guys absolutely bent the Aussies backwards and gave Kiwis total control yet the likes of Perrett, Whare, Proctor, Harris, JWH etc. offered the Kiwis very little.

That scoreline doesn't really reflect the game at all. Kiwis switched off for a patch and got their pants pulled down. With SBW, Mannering, Benji and a back or more to come into the side, I reckon they can catch the Aussies out again.

lolz. just lolz. slater for QLD has been one of the best players the maroons have ever had.

so the same as 99% of rugby league test matches that australia are involved in. every man and his dog knows the plot by now, hasnt changed in the 20+ years ive been watching. if a rugby league match lasted for 50 minutes or so, NZ might snag a win or a draw once every few years. at 80 minutes? not gonna happen.

i couldnt even be bothered watching live, test matches are just so lame. just finished watching and it was all i expected. good to see that as expected, picking kidley was just pointless.

Yet New Zealand have won more competitions than NSW have lately.

Go figure.

I think Hoffman put a grubber through in the first half but the try was disallowed...?

Agree with everything else you said. Hoffman is a winger....he shouldn't be allowed to wear the number 1 jersey.

Most games have 2 halves. :001_tt2: Except for trial matches etc.

The 2nd half was a completley different story from the 1st half hence game of 2 halves bozo

It's my way of saying one half was completley different from the other
