13/14 Football Thread

Re: 12/13 Football Thread

Yeah, I'm with Scotty. Ball boy was being a little tit, so he shouldn't get away with it scot-free. But, Hazard should know you can't just go around kicking ball boys... it's not exactly a good look.

I reckon Hazard will get around a four to six game ban or something. If he was Luis Suarez, he'd probably be put in jail. :tongue_smilie:

Re: 12/13 Football Thread

am I the only one who thinks the kid deserved it? that was disgraceful time wasting tactics. Kid should be banned from football for that shit.

100% agreed.
Ball boy is clearly a dickhead. That was hardly a kick too (the gif looks faster than the actual video), it was a nudge and the ball boy milked it to pretend that's he injured just to be even more of a dickhead.

He has to get banned because it would look bad not to ban him but I'd be satisfied with a week. Ball boy should be banned forever.

One of the grubbiest douchebag centre halves I've ever seen retires at the seasons end. No offense to you ning, but not only do I welcome it, I think it's a couple of seasons overdue.

Re: 12/13 Football Thread

How is he 'grubby'? :confused1:

At least he didn't go skipping drug tests, or shagging the partners of his team-mates. :winky:

Re: 12/13 Football Thread

So I'm guessing it's just a friendly custom in Uruguay to bite Serbians in the heat of professional sports? I'm interested to see how Liverpool fans will attempt to defend the buck toothed scummer in this instance.

Easy Scotty. After being in Liverpool for 2 years he just assumed that like Liverpool residents he no longer had any teeth.

Re: 12/13 Football Thread

Is Liverpool like the Redfern of Australia?

Re: 12/13 Football Thread

Most urban centres of the UK are like the 'Redfern' of the UK. The country is fucked.

Scousers (Liverpudlians) however, have a strong reputation for theft and poverty.... but most of those allegations stem from questionable content found in the chants of rival teams.

Seriously, Suarez possesses fantastic skill. He really is a top footballer, it's a shame he's such a bastard otherwise. The funny thing is from what I have heard he is a lovely bloke off the pitch as well. His behaviour doesn't make any sense sometimes.

Re: 12/13 Football Thread

I can't defend his actions. Not something I want to see on the field.

That said, I don't remember there being this much whoopla when Jermaine Defoe bit Javier Mascherano in an almost identical incident a few years ago. But then, Defoe isn't a 'foreigner'. It's the same with diving... if Suarez takes a dive, it's a big huge fucking incident, if Gareth Bale the Welsh chimp takes one, it's 'oh, cheeky Gareth is trying to trick the referee, haha, good try son'. I'm surprised Suarez hasn't done something this crazy before today, because the amount of shit he gets from referees, other players and the press is remarkable. It's amazing he hasn't asked to leave England yet. Says a lot about his resolve and determination.

Suarez is a footballing genius, but he's a bit crazy. He's like a little kid at times with his arm waving and hysterics, but the fact that he plays on the edge is what makes him so good. He gets these rushes of adrenalin and he just can't control them. Conceding that penalty yesterday would've set him off. He would've been absolutely stewing inside.

The funny thing is, someone going in with a two-footed challenge or an elbow in the head is far more damaging/potentially damaging than a little nibble on the shoulder, yet everyone seems to forget about those things once the match is over.

Anyway, **** it. He bit someone, he apologised. I'm not really interested in discussing it further... although I'll probably hear about it every day for however long Suarez is still at Liverpool.

Re: 12/13 Football Thread

I saw the bite, pretty James Graham like, lol.

And I totally agree Suarez is a beast of a player, absolute class.

I hear Bale slated as an embarrassing cheat just as much as I've heard it about Suarez around the traps. The difference is the behaviour of Suarez otherwise means he is an easier target for the media, so he gets more exposure. It's got nothing to do with him being foreign or 'a bit crazy', he's just a grub on the field. He's one of many grubs in the world of football and it has nothing to do with where he is from or being a bit crazy.

From what I just read ning, you HAVE tried to defend him. I hope you don't take offense to this, but you seem to be like every typical Liverpool fan who can't take their red glasses off.

The funny thing is, someone going in with a two-footed challenge or an elbow in the head is far more damaging/potentially damaging than a little nibble on the shoulder, yet everyone seems to forget about those things once the match is over.

Really mate? Pull the other one. Use your loaf.

Re: 12/13 Football Thread

Oh and just to add insult to injury, the bastard feigned injury immediately following the biting incident.

I would be ashamed to have him representing my club.

Re: 12/13 Football Thread

I'll let Gary Neville do my talking for me. Seems to be the only non-sensationalist pundit in the game.

'Use your loaf'. What the **** does this mean? Use my brain? Sorry, is going in two footed on a player with an expectation of hurting them (a la Roy Keane) somehow more 'manly' than biting them? Is that what makes it more acceptable? What the **** is the difference? Like Gary Neville said, he's from an entirely different culture, he grew up playing football on the streets. He got a rush of blood, and he couldn't control himself. Fucking idiotic thing to do, but it's done. He'll rightly cop a ban and that's that.

If there is no bias against foreigners, how did Luis Suarez get a seven game ban for allegedly racial abusing Patrice Evra, although the only evidence was really the words of the players, an even then, what Suarez said is a completely acceptable term in his language. Yet, John Terry the Englishman called Anton Ferdinand 'a black ****' in front of the TV cameras and players, and only copped a four game ban... which they put off until after he had played in the Euros for England. Using the police as an excuse. Whatever though.

I was gonna ask you this a few weeks ago in this thread, but I thought it would be a bit of a cheap shop... anyway, seeing as we're having a 'raging debate' I'll ask you now!

What's your opinion on Sunderland's manager, the confessed fascist? Or have we all forgotten about now because he looks like a cool dude when he celebrates goals?

And yes, of course I am biased.
