It's preseason. No coach expects their assumed starting QB to make that tackle. Even if he is as bad as Sanchez.

I don't care if its the preseason. You throw a pick like that - you try to make up for it. Particularly when you're fighting to keep your job.

I don't know if trying to tackle a linebacker on your first pre-season game as a QB is a good idea, no matter how dreadful the pass was!

Attempting that tackle doesn't stop the TD, and doesn't take the bad throw back. He isn't going to win the job with his arm in a sling. They're not going to give him the job on the basis of good hustle.
