My only concern is the dreaded second year syndrome. He has been pretty good at the WC, but was almost non-existent in the last QF game against Fiji. He did defend well though.

That's a bit harsh tbh. When you are fullback and already have two of the worst halves going, and the best of the two goes down early it's pretty bloody hard to do much

B4L, I was really surprised the Samoan coach didn't move him into the halves immediately. They mustn't have had any fullback cover.

Certainly not getting excited, it was only reasonable that he came home to Brisbane for a while before heading back to Canberra (If he does head back)

I also noticed he wasn't lurking behind the ruck as he normally would. That game was a bit strange for the Samoans, they seemed like they forgot who they were and what they were doing there. I don't know if I was being harsh, it was just an observation. Second year syndrome happens to the best of em, I wasn't meaning to link the QF performance with 2nd year syndrome, it just came across that way.

I actually think there is a lot to take out of that performance. We all know his attack is outstanding, but he actually backed it up with some good defence too. I think it's pretty incredibly how quickly he's been rising, since he hasn't even played a full season of FG footy yet.
