Don't know if it's been mentioned, but Hoffman didn't break his leg. Scans confirmed a high ankle sprain that will keep him out for about 3 weeks, so that's good news for Josh.

The last time we played Knights at Suncorp, and the game that officially ended Broncos finals hopes. Will we see a repeat of last year?

they said on matt johns show last night that hodges will be the fb this week.

i actually think its the best thing we can do right now. barba is just finding his feet at 6 and hodges can be involved both sides as a ball player in the back line. hopefully his body holds up.

i couldnt justify throwing a rookie kid in at fb in a do-or-die match at this time of year. if we were going to try him, it should of been earlier in the season/origin/what ever. but not in what is essentially a knock out finals match for us.

team i would like to see is pretty close to what will be named provided hodges does play FB.

would drop either thaiday or gillett to the bench (probably gillett) and start hannant with mcguire and parker at 13. remaining bench would be granville (and id play him for more than 5 mins), kennedy, oates.

I reackon its worth the risk. From what Ive seen the kid is amazing.

I'd like to give Oates a shot at fullback. He is built similar to Inglis and has proven that he is good under the high ball.

Kodi would be as risky as all hell.

I put his name up there against the Bulldogs because he has a bit of pace and acceleration but he's dodgy at all the technical fullback aspects and you may as well forget it if the other team makes a break.

If you were going to throw a backrower at the back it might as well be Gillett his crabbing might be more useful against a broken line.

Ahh the short memories you guys have. He killed it on the wing last year. He outran Uate with a ball in his hands. Yeah my logic sucks. Hodges tries to do everything himself at centre. Imagine what he will do when he gets to roam the field and gets to touch the ball all the time.

There is a bit more to fullback than just catching the ball and running. What about our attack in the backline or defence for a fullback which isn't picked up overnight? Not to mention he plays second row which is completely different to fullback. Hodges will work fine at fullback. He has a licence to roam, he actually sets up plays and throws decent passes when they need to be thrown unlike Hoffman and can break tackles. I just hope they don't play barba at fullback in defence. His confidence under the high ball has abandoned him.

Attack in the back line? We have had Barba do nothing all year and then Hoggman at the back. We have no attack in the back line.. Defensively he would be fine. He has played more minutes in the back line then he has at second row too. And did better in the backs.

No offence mate but if all there was to fullback was catching and running Hoffman would be one of the best fullbacks in the comp

That's rubbish. All of our playmaking outside of hunt was coming from barba when he was at fullback.

In regards to Hoffman he has been criticised for only being able to catch and run and has no ability to create. So you wish to combat this by placing someone there that can catch and run (although slower than Hoffman) who has no playmaking ability to speak of?

Okie dokie
