I draw the line at animal sacrifice. Perhaps just inserting animals into the live sex shows would be a happy medium?

People are forgetting that Lockyer was just slightly better than a turnstile in defence at the back for his first few years. He ended his fullback run as one of the best. Slaters defence was also questioned, especially here on bhq, and again, one of the best ever now. Milford is 19, his defence is bound to improve. Now it has to improve much quicker and much more than at fb though.

That's a way better idea than Guy Sebastian. How awkward was having the preshow entertainment at half time the other night?

I was hoping that big white tarp was going to be a slip 'n' slide for the cheerleaders.

It's interesting you bring up Lockyer because I get the impression that people think he was shifted to fullback with a view to develop him as a five eighth down the track and I don't think that's necessarily the case. I think the transition to five eighth was still in the cards, but the move wasn't made to develop him there, rather the Broncos needed somebody to fill in the fullback role and Lockyer was the man for the job.

As I said, I see both sides but for the time being I'm willing to support the experiment and give it the benefit of the doubt.

Lockyer was always a half (from my memory) growing up and was a manufactured fullback. Once again my memory accords with what BP is saying. His progression into A grade was blocked by Alfie and Kevvie and we needed a fullback after releasing Julian O'Neill and having a stop-gap season from Willie Carne at fullback, so that was where Wayne put him to get him into the side.

Benji Marshall was vigorously defending Milf at 6 and putting it to Kent that he's being judged on one game, and the fact milf grew up as a 5/8 and only moved to fullback at raiders. Spot on IMO

Growing up as a 5/8th means nothing, its completely different than FG. They just put people there to "get more ball", no creativity or playmaking involved at all.

Yeah that’s right, he was playing 6 in the under 19’s. Calder was coach and had him as captain as well- he had only played 8 games when Steve suggested Benny take him to Sydney with Kevvie out. Benny wasn’t too sure so gave him two training sessions- one of which he was late for and then said you’re not getting him back.

Lockyer played Reggies that day too at 6 and played another two games for the Reggies both at 6- that year but never went back to 19’s.

His debut off the bench was at 6 too, with Ben Walker also on the bench making his debut.

So we can all establish that these guys will find a ridiculous argument to anything and we should all stop replying to them now? Ok, good.

We are never going to develop a proper 5/8 if we don't give them a chance to settle in and by a chance I mean a full season at least. **** me, we gave Corey Norman a full season at 5/8 so how come people are so quick to say put Milford back to fullback after one game. Its not like Milford is 34 and needs to be successful right now in the position or we develop another player. He is 19 for **** sakes. Give the kid some time to adjust to the position and then maybe we can evaluate him at round 26

To be fair, the people calling for him to move to fullback never wanted him to shift in the first place.

Not that it makes a difference for whether he should be at the back or in the halves, but Milford is almost 21, not 19.

Are you just trying to make everyone seem older so that you all of a sudden don't seem so old? Because you are old. And French.

We don't need to develop a proper 5/8th, we should be focusing on getting an actual 5/8th and bringing them in instead of trying to turn a fullback into a 5/8th.

His defence was excellent against the rabbits.

We have brought in a 5/8. Milford!

Milford played all his juniors in the halves and was earmarked very early on as a future star - in the halves!

He got his shot in first grade at fullback and did brilliantly. But, his best spot is 5/8.

For the love of God can we please give the kid a chance to find his feet? Much better judges of rugby league than any of us think he can do it, so let's please give him some time. It would also be helpful for Milf if the pack steps up and gets us on the front foot so he can show us what he can do!

Josh Hoffman played his junior footy in the halves ... doesn't mean shit when it comes to his best position in the NRL

I'm sorry mate but I disagree.

Hoffman played all over through his junior days and actually played majority of his senior footy before the Broncs in the centres and fullback.

Anyway let's revisit this topic in a month or two as I'm positive some attitudes will have changed.

I am of the opinion if Milford had played 5/8 for Souths last Friday night he would have carved up and everyone would have been praising his move to 5/8
