The Wayne Bennett Super thread!

Who were you expecting to come in if we have an injury?.
Oates is on the wing, Gavet is injured, Blair is playing prop, Garbutt is a prop, so is Wallace and Joffa is already on the bench.

It was the Anti Bennett crowd that were saying Lowrie/Stagg are Bennett type players, yet not one of them has played a game yet Wallace, Joffa, Gavet, Nikorima, and Whitchurch have all been played ahead of those 2.

Yeah... but... Bennett.

I remember it as it was in response to ne saying something along the lines of get used to seeing either Lowrie or Stagg in our lineup because Bennett loves those types of players

So because his named on an extended bench because of a potential injury concern after 3 games where neither players featured, suddenly that means we are going to have to get used to him being there on a week to week basis when full strength basis so far has suggested otherwise? Lowrie is a player of depth, nothing more nothing less, expectations of him not appearing the odd game is a tad unrealistic and that doesn't mean his the type of player Bennett likes either.

It'd be a good idea if you substantiated your allegation before you went ahead and attempted to bait an entire subsection of the community.

Of course Cult3 has nailed the appropriate response even if you find something that word for word corroborates your post.

Out of interest Anonymous person, you made the comment that Wayne Bennett got rid of a bunch of super talented players at Newcastle, I was wondering which players you were referring to and if I may ask how exactly they're going in the NRL?

Mate, I can't thank you enough for saying this.

Oh ffs Foordy, no one said that. Several comments were said about lowrie in response to you and AP claiming that lowrie would be lining up every week because he is 'bennetts sort of player' people responded saying that he wouldn't be playing every week, not that he would never play again but that he is a depth option and your assertion he would be first choice due to some preconceived notion that he is 'bennetts sort of player' was false.

Foordy did you notice that no one said after the first 3 rounds no said 'na na na na na you were wrong lowrie hasn't player every game'. Maybe you can take a leaf out of that book

If only we had a winger playing in the reserves so we could move that second rower Oates to the second row instead of lowrie. Wouldn't that be nice?

You didn't answer Big Pete's question.

Yeah it would be good if Carlin Anderson got a run sometime throughout the year.

You didn't answer @Big Pete's question.

Maybe he's talking about the player cleanout of '07? Wayne is a schemer of course, always two moves ahead of everyone else. He just wanted to make sure the place was a shambles before he took over so he'd look like their savior. Nailed it.

Woah woah wait up. It does make sense. Wasn't Ken Talbot a thoroughbred? And a mining magnate? LIKE TINKLER? There's the link. And get this, who was the biggest name to be booted from the Knights? Kade Snowden. So when Wayne and Tinkler "bring Kade home", it's like poetry in recruitment form. Except. Shit. Kade forgot to bring his jam jar and ended up a little scaredy cat.

BOO!!!!

Aww crap. Back to the Broncos...

I have no issues with Lowrie's selection under the circumstances, as he's a player who can do a job if necessary, and is apparently a very good influence in the group.

Bennett's actually been more progressive than I was expecting. No way did I think Kodi or Joe would have debuted by now and I don't think anyone who's in the anti Wayne camp was expecting that.

Joe is especially surprising given Garbutt. Would be interested to know if WB does not rate Garbutt that highly as I was expecting him to have played by now.

Lowrie used to be a Warrior, so it's really not a horrible decision. I mean, it's better than Whitchurch again!

Josh Morris, zeb taia and junior sau are a few off the top of my head.

Let's be fair i wouldn't call Junior Sau "super talented" and i barely even know who Zeb Taia is. Also didn't morris leave before Wayne was coach?

Interesting nominations.

Can you tell me when Josh Morris played for the Knights? I watch a lot of Rugby League but happened to miss that era.

Now I do remember Taia and Sa'U playing for the Knights but also don't recall much interest from other teams. In fact, Sa'u played all of four games for the Melbourne Storm. I'm not sure about your standards but to me, that doesn't define a 'super' player.

It's not up to me to decide but maybe someone else would say that you over-exaggerated to make a point but in the end, the only thing you really exposed was your agenda and lack of knowledge on the subject?

None of these guys scream Super talented. Or even First grade material.

Yeah josh Morris never played for the Knights...

Wait, he got rid of zeb taia AND junior sau? Jesus Christ both future immortals.

I remember reading an article by Craig Bellamy where he explained that he had to stop playing Sau because he was constantly outshining the big 3 and they were close to leaving the club over it.
