Always nice to get the two points and see Norman defeated. It says something that the Broncos are 6-2 and at the top of the table. Forwards played tough and got the result.

One thing that I couldn't else help but notice is that Copley really needs to improve on the defensive end. He was pretty bad out there tonight in defense. Anyone else notice that?

Good as it was, I would have liked a more aggressive defence like we showed against the Roosters. Faster line speed and hitting harder.

Milford's run from our line was what I have been waiting for all year. That run and try would have lifted his confidence a lot. His overall game I thought was a further step forward, limited a bit only by his still evolving understanding of playing 5/8 in the way we play him.

Still building cohesion. This side will soon be a force to be reckoned with.

Milf was playing up to the crowd and everyone was responding, can only be good for him

Copley's good one on one but not convinced about his positioning. The tackle where he knocked the ball out would have been a missed tackle if the ball didn't come loose.

Happy to get the win, but..

We REALLY need to do something about our line speed. Tackle after tackle tonight we just sat back and waited for them to roll into us. The reason we took out the Rooster's was because we were up and in their face - tonight there was none of that. Consistency is key in this competition.

In addition, as much as I am loathe to say it, we need to improve our "wrestling". This sort of leads in from my first comment, but too many tackles are finishing with the opposition on their hands and knees and getting off quick play the balls.

I think we really felt the absence of Glenn/Vidot when coming out of our own end tonight, but Hunt and Milf's kicking games were good enough for Parra to start their sets in their own half.

It was a good grinding win and one that I don't think we win last year. Here's hoping we continue to improve!

P.S. How good was it seeing Milford in open space?!

This. This is what needs a lot of work. I reckon if we had put on that defence, we would have another 12 points and even if not, my nerves over the last 10 minutes would not have been so frazzled.

Good win tonight. We were always in control of that game and never really looked like losing it, we were never behind on the scoreboard and we also held our composure well when needed.

Was great to see Milford play a blinder after criticism from users on here. Macca played another very good game tonight, I wish he continues this form it will make our re-signing of him pay off.

Interesting performance from the refs tonight.

It may not have shown on TV, but on quite a few occasions, there were 4-5 Eels players standing at least 2 metres in front of him and not once did he ping them for being offside.. It's not like they were on the other side of the field, they were literally standing right in front of him.

You wonder why Eels were in our face so much? That's one of the reasons why..

Could even see it on the tv. The ref wasn't in frame but there was no way Parra were back 10.

Yeah but Watmough reckons they were going back 12-13m and still getting pinged.

Definitely noticed it. He was probably the only player for us who had a bad game tonight.

I thought we were a bit lucky to win, to be honest.

Our defense lacked mongrel tonight. We were constantly dropping off tackles, not wrapping up the ball, not making dominant tackles and we weren't getting up in their face which just made our job harder. Eels made so many easy metres and if Milford didn't score that try, I think they could have taken it to golden point.

Our goal line defense was good, though.

I thought our attack was average. We had our good moments, came up with some big plays but it's still an area that needs a lot of work. I guess it doesn't help that the Eels were constantly offside and were able to get up on us quicker.

Not a great win, but it's still good to get a win after such a hard loss last week.

And kudos to Milford for not only sealing the result, but ensuring that we finished on top of the ladder..

It made the journey home easier to bare.. Seriously, they were doing work on the train lines and it terminated at Northgate. What happened afterwards was fucking stressful.

And, to the people that called out during the minutes silence, seriously just go fucking die. Is it so fucking hard to stand there for one minute and stay fucking silent? Jesus christ.

It's pathetic isn't it. It happens at every game.

We could learn from the Poms. When they have a minutes silence, you could hear a pin drop.

I honestly want to know if Hodgo and Norman genuinely dislike eachother. Awesome game and can't wait to play Penrith.

They don't. They were sharing grip spray and having a laugh at one point during the game together. Mate against Mate stuff. Was good to see haha

This was one of those games Brisbane would have lost last year.

To endure 40 tackles inside your own 40, basically work it out from your own side of the field through out the second half yet still win was a good effort even if it just feels like another two points.

I didn't think the Eels played badly at all, the Broncos just did well to stick in there and come up with the big plays when they needed to be made.

Enjoyed the day. As repetitive as the pre-game entertainment was, I can forgive it considering what it stands for and outside of the usual larrakins I thought it was a great tribute. Was amazing just hearing the cars on the street go by, just very surreal.

Does anyone know what Hodges said to Norman when Hodges was hit high?

"Oi get a new ?"

Foxtel didn't show the Anzac tribute, they were waffling on about the Storm vs Manly game & then went straight to the game when they were doing their warm-ups again.

I think Josh McGuire's Dad was on the field when they did the tributes etc.

That's a shame.

It was also really cool to see the crowd go crazy when the players came onto the field. Really gave the game a sense of occassion and I agree with Wayne, Brisbane should get an ANZAC Game as well.

Have them play New Zealand, it would draw a fantastic crowd.

Also wanted to say...

I hated Maranta taking a dive tonight. I know the Eels took three dives in that game but it's such a shameful part of our game and I hate players abusing the system and making the game look weak.

Anyone who is motionless for the duration some of these players were need to come off.

And until that rule is brought in, I don't want to see anymore dives from the Broncos.
