I'm borderline hoping the storm win the comp so we can at least declare the rule changes a failure.

What did we do to deserve this? Wasn't choking the GF bad enough?

In fairness, we were without 3 origin-level forwards, and lost a winger inside 5 minutes. Attitude was improved from last week at the start of the game. Opacic was great, the other young blokes didn't let us down either.

But that's about where the good ends. Something fucking stinks as bad as the Henjak / Griffin era, and I am losing faith in Wayne to sort it out. Does he still have his touch with the new generation of players?

The team is slow, tired, utterly predictable and have a terrible attitude. The first and second I guess I can cop, though last year we were winning on our ability to blow teams off the park with the speed of our game. Remember the Broncos/Cows games and how fast they were? How free-flowing? Where the **** is that this year? The refs allowing the wrestle again are not helping, but it doesn't appear we have it in us anymore either, though there were some signs of it tonight.

The bad attitude is something I will not cop as a fan. I refuse. It's simply not good enough, I expect more from the Broncos.

We lack on-field leadership. And key players are very obviously mentally broken.

I don't have a solution. But I'm pissed and upset and I think I have every right to be. This was a team who missed last year's premiership by 5 fucking seconds, minus Hodgo. What the actual **** has happened?

I'm not having a dig at Bennett (more at BHQ)

but I haven't seen the knives come out for Bennett after our recent performances ...

If Hook was still the coach, an angry mob would have already been formed ready to lynch him

Ouch.

Stick a fork in us. We're done.

Early knock on under no pressure from Oates set the tone. Roosters were able to make something from nothing and everything we touched turned to mud.

I'm hoping to see Opacic, Ese'ese and TPJ as regular fixtures next year. Aside from Tom's impromptu field goal attempt I think they acquitted themselves well.

Shit happens. A lot hinges on the choice of captaincy next year.

I don't believe the boys hate Parker but I'm not seeing him doing much to rally the troops when needed. Down on his haunches, not laying down the law.

I hope we go with Boyd. Seasoned campaigner, big game experience, cool as a cucumber. Seems to be vocal on the field and well respected.

And that tells you all you need to know about how poorly this game is operated. The NRL brings in rule changes like the 8 interchanges bragging about how it's going to make the game better, then proceed to allow the incompetent and flat out dumbass referees to reward Bellamyball. This code is run by rolled gold morons.

And James Roberts needs to forget about more speed on Oxford street and worry about tackling numptys like Copley.

I's take Copley over Roberts any day - Roberts is a myth. The only time his speed is any good is when he's in the clear.

Bennett needs to retire. Let Walters have a go. Bennett can still be the motivator but modern game has left him in the dust. Too old gran tarino

If that's the truth then I'm done with Rugby League. I am 100% behind Bennett when it comes to his anti wrestle viewpoint, and if that is truly what the future of this sport is then I don't want it anymore. It's a terrible direction for the game to go that makes the product worse.

Disgusting to see no structure in attack when we are at their line...either Milf throwing a useless pass or Hunt with a stupid kick or Boyd doing the only play he seems to know and (tonight) fucking it up over and over.

Who do we get rid of?

On a somewhat bittersweet note, good to see Copley have a good night. It's been a rough year for him and I thought he might have had it with injuries.

I'll be the first.

Bennett's coaching has been woeful this season and he doesn't have a clue to get them out of this hole.

Not sure why so many are looking forward to next year. We will have a worse team, as I've said before our premiership window was last and this year.
We are now years away from a premiership unless we somehow buy some forwards and find our heart.

How we can buy anyone who would make a difference is beyond me too, if we have spent our cap on this squad and it ran only 17 deep we must be overspending somewhere.

I still can't believe we let Copley walk out the door ... actually, we didn't just let him walk out, we threw him out

It's not just the wrestle. It's the attacking structures and defensive structures. Our non existent pressure building or kick chase. This stuff needs to be drilled into the team by the coach. Maybe he did just rely on our great players in the past...

Very happy I had zero expectations for what happened in this game. I thought Opacic did very well. Believe it or not I enjoyed this game more than most I have seen lately because both teams refused to wrestle or hold down in the ruck, NRL should take note. 3 Rep forwards back next week......I'm trying to look for positives but apart from harassing or spoiling some other teams' season I'm pretty sure you can stick a fork in us, we're done.
