How were we saved by the buzzer? They dropped the ball from a forced error with a good tackle by Opacic.

i reckon the big factor here is an old saying we can adopt "form is temporary, class is permanent" the 3 origin and aussie boys were the difference last night. i know some people have given thaiday a hard time recently and the past few years but its no coincidence that when he fires the whole team generally fires. its also no secret that the edge is still the best place for him, he has that awkward running style that opposition players hate to take front on.

Wayne giving the boys the handshakes - happy coach. Happy fan here. Haven't enjoyed a grinding win like that for...months.

Wayne was bullish in the media conference too and his body language was as upbeat as I've seen him in a long time. Me too mate, was getting a bit tight but I'm happy with that

Keen to get some thoughts on Glenn. I know he's been forced to play some centre on that left edge but all things being equal we've leaked some points down with him and seemed to look much better last night with Sam there. Yeah I know we only played the dragons and oppa was rock solid but
He seemed to have no competition on his edge under griffin and lesser extent Bennett but as an observation runs a lot harder when benched. Is that his spot if we are all fit? I reckon it might be

So you'll wait 4 more rounds to make the call. Very patient of you. Me on the other hand I like to think a little bit more ahead and gauge our performances vs those of the front runners. For me being pushed to the buzzer by one of the worst sides in the Comp (who were missing their best player) to competing against the top 3 in as little as 4 weeks is a bit of a long shot.

The team has potential, we saw it last year and for the first 10 rounds of this year but for any number of reasons it took a turn for the worst starting at the Cronulla game but most would agree things weren't right from round 1 even with the wins.

By all means continue to have hope but the divide between us and the top 3 is too steep a hill to climb this close to the finals.

Nah mate, way ahead of you, I made the call after the loss to the Tigers, so probably a fair bit ahead of you.

But I have been playing, coaching and watching football for too long to not realize that sometimes all it can take is one good win to flick the switch and get a team on a roll.

Do I expect it to happen and they return to top form and trouble the top 3, probably not, am I hopeful that this will occur, very much so. Either way, I will enjoy the ride and hope for the best result for my team.

i get where you and a lot of others are comming from, glass half full and all but I'd rather be honest about the side and call it how it is. Nothing I saw last night showed we had improved, they just concentrated on holding onto the ball and the dragons were woeful, that's about it.

I thought there were signs in the first half of some improvement. 2nd half was shit.

I don't think the top 4 are playing that well that you can write us off tbh. We have too much talent in the side and at the moment (minus Gillett), none are playing to their full potential.
Still confident a form resurrection is coming our way.

Happy with the renewed attitude but disappointed with Milf and Hunt to a lesser extent. A lot of Hunts work was great but I am perplexed as to why the kick into the I goal wasn't pursued more often. Both our halves seemed to miss chances to put pressure on the defenders with repeats.

Really does make you wonder what's going through the head of these two (Hunt & Milford). More so, it makes we wonder why the likes of Langer & Lockyer are getting into the heads of these guys off and on the field. Locky would have been driving the ball in behind the line all game .....squeezing the life out of the Dragons. Building pressure....working on momentum. We're probably suited to wet weather footy more than most teams with the basic structure we play.......yet the piss poor 4th and 5th tackle options were killing us. Did Hunt actually try a grubber on the line on the 2nd tackle. WTF??

Why wouldn't Wayne be emphasising that the game called for field position and patience.

Because that's what Mary would have told his team the Broncos would do, play safe and patient... Although a few grubbers were dogshit the intent was there to be seen. It's pretty hard to turn quickly and chase in those conditions... It didn't really work but I like what they were trying to do.

The biggest difference this week compared to the last few months was that they seemed to have a specific game plan. They weren't able to execute it consistently for eighty minutes but they mostly seemed to be clear about what they were trying to achieve.
