Lodge is a complete **** stick but if theres an opportunity for him to change and he can bring some much needed aggression to our pack im all for it. He would be heavily targeted and would take a lot if pressure off our other forwards.
 
Chris Garry is saying he is going to try and get the number 14 spot.
 
I don't hate it honestly, especially if we're not going to use the cap space anywhere else, because guess what? Hunt & Milford played their best when they had Ash Taylor breathing down their neck in 2015, having a guy who can play at NRL level behind Hunt & Milford can only be a good thing, it'll put a MASSIVE rocket up their ass.
 
Yep, good signing. At best he hits a rich vein of form and forces his way into the side, and worst he's a back up half. Either way it forces Hunt to look long and hard at his game with Niko and now Benji in the wings.
 
Wow, this is dredging the bottom of the barrel.

If we wind up with Marshall on the books than I've lost faith in the old man.

Would be nice to spend our cap space on some big front rowers . And we should have just kept Taylor . Benju was abysmal last year !

The only scenario in which we're signing Marshall right here is if every available good forward has turned us down or is unavailable, you can believe that.

Would you rather sign Benji to a minimum contract on a 1 year deal with cap space that would be just sitting there not being used otherwise? I know what I'd rather, he'll provide good injury cover for the halves, and possibly through Origin if Milford gets the nod. And as I said before, it'll put pressure on Milford and Hunt to perform, they've had the halves positions monopolised for the last 12 months, that wasn't the case in 2015 when Taylor was incoming, and it won't be the case in 2017 if Benji can play some decent footy in QCUP.

Still a better option than some 18 year old kid that isn't anywhere near NRL ready.

He is nothing more than a back up, that's it.

Pretty handy to have an experienced back up on the books.

Also, I hope we sign him to a 3 year deal.

1 year as a player and 2 years as our full time halves coach, he may not be the best player anymore, but he's still got an incredible football brain and is one of the most inventive halves of the modern era, having him working with our boys for the next couple of years could push them to the next level.
 
We are signing Benji so he can help us lure Farah here once he gets fired for trying to get Michael Maguire fired. McCullough and Hunt gone. Seriously though as long as he is dirt cheap then who cares, he's better cover than anyone else we have as depth.
