Wish we could play like we did in the last 10mins. We played like that last time against the roosters and we won.Been really disappointed with Hunt lately, but I will give them this game to prove his worth and if he doesn't then look at either Marshall(who has been playing pretty good in the last two games) or Niko.

We had a coach in 2015 that showed milf and hunt the ways to playing together. But Bennett didn't like him or that style.
This is the issue for me. I would like to see Blair's offload stats from 2015 compared to 2016 & 2017. I dare say that his 2015 is probably miles ahead of both those combined.

To me that doesn't say that Blair has lost the ability to offload, as evidenced on Saturday, but says the coaching staff want to be conservative and have told the players to put the offload away for set completions

Not only that, but it's made the team to not expect or provide support play. Blair offloaded at least twice and no one was looking at it or ready to take it. He also went looking many times and no one was there so he held it and took the tackle. It's so frustrating

I think it's even more unlikely that Nikorima is the Halfback for the rest of the season than Marshall.

Nikorima was relegated to the bench the second Hunt returned and didn't even get a start in the halves with Milford away for Origin, Marshall was just re-signed for an extra season and has played admirably over the last 2 weeks after a long lay-off. I doubt Hunt gets dropped, but if he does, I'd say Marshall comes in.
Has Marshall re-signed for 2018? I hadn't heard. What were the terms?

You obviously haven't been following Bennett's career very long if you think he is going to axe his halfback (who hasn't exactly been dreadful) during the Origin period on a team who are firmly entrenched in the playoff race. Why would he further disrupt the side during this taxing part of the season? Hunt is still the best halfback in the club which is why Bennett will keep him there for the remainder of the year.

It is going to be a bloody long season for the anti-Hunt brigade... sitting there "knowing" we have no hope of the premiership and complaining that Bennett won't drop him. counting the days until he is gone.

only problem is once he is gone, we have a similar halfback coming into replace him.

Yep, a bloke who helped lead us to six straight wins and played better than Hunt has all year.

But you and the few other Ben Hunt boys left on here keep putting your heads in the sand. The rest of us are happy to get behind Hunt when he fucking earns it.

Unsure, it was reported on ABC Grandstand before the Roosters game, 1 year deal is all that was revealed.

I thought it was just that we offered him a new 1 year contract. I didn't think he had accepted at this stage

Yeah no idea mate, @Big Del posted it in the pre-game thread, maybe he can shed some more light.

I actually hope he does accept it (or has already) provides some good backup for us if one of our main halves go down

You're welcome to disagree.

But the results speak for themselves. Whole team played better with Kodi.

since you brought stats into it in the live game thread:

Hunt has played 8 games to Nikorima's 7.

Hunt has 4 try assists to 0 for Nikorima

Hunt has kicked the ball 82 times (one of which was a 40/20) to Nikorima's 32

Hunt leads 17 tackle breaks to 13 (Milford has 46 in his 11 games FYI)

Hunt is behind in line breaks (2-1) and line break assists (3-2)

and i have never seen Nikorima lay on a kick like Hunt has the last 2 weeks for his outside mean (one lead to a try for Nikorima)

Nikorima certainly has his good points, but to say he has been much better than Hunt is just plain wrong.

We played against teams weren't red hot contenders, providing 5 origin players. They lost by two. Rather than looking at the attack, maybe some soul searching with the defence is needed. That's 50 points in two games, and it concerns me a lot more. I'm hoping its just fatigue and players coming back/new to the team/out of position and it comes right next game.
18 points might not seem so bad, but its more when it is scored (early in the game). We need to fix some I think.

Ahh the stat battle.

Again, any stats for useless fifth tackle options? Hunt would lead those.

Games won/lost this season?

Kodi has scored more than Hunt.

Hunt kicking the ball more is hardly a point in his favour...

So more tackle breaks and more try assists. Did we win those games?

Kodi has contributed far more to the wins we have achieved than Hunt.

That was hard to make sense of mate...

Roosters, Titans, Manly all been considered contenders, mate.

We also held the Tigers to nil with Kodi.
