Our new halfback should be

Sims & Ese'ese have been a massive let down over the last 2 months tbh. It's time to add a little more X-Factor to the starting forward pack.

1. Boyd (c)
2. Oates
3. Roberts
4. Moga
5. Kahu
6. Milford
7. Marshall
8. McGuire
9. McCullough
10. Blair
11. Glenn
12. Gillett
13. Pangai Jr

14. Thaiday
15. Sims
16. Ese'ese
17. Nikorima
I assume you haven't watched Marshall as a halfback ... I'll refresh your memory, he's shit.

Even Bennett said he wasn't a halfback

The difference being Bennett thinks he is a halfback ... he doesn't think Marshall is.

Besides, if Nikorima wad the brilliant halfback while Hunt was injured, why wouldn't he just play in the halves in the highly unlikely event that Hunt is dropped, especially given he is likely to get first shot next season anyway.

I think it's even more unlikely that Nikorima is the Halfback for the rest of the season than Marshall.

Nikorima was relegated to the bench the second Hunt returned and didn't even get a start in the halves with Milford away for Origin, Marshall was just re-signed for an extra season and has played admirably over the last 2 weeks after a long lay-off. I doubt Hunt gets dropped, but if he does, I'd say Marshall comes in.

Better halfback than what Benji was.

Debatable.

Marshall was one of the top 5 Halfback's in the competition in 2015 when he returned from Union, it's people like you who really don't know what they're talking about and overstate everything to try and get their point across. Marshall played like a broken ass in 2016, but that's primarily because he strained his hammy 3 times a week and was never healthy, let's compare 2015 Marshall to Hunt's best ever season, shall we?

2015 Marshall - 23 games, 22 try assists, 18 line-break assists, 5 line-breaks, 3 tries
2015 Hunt - 26 games, 16 try assists, 16 line-break assists, 11 line-breaks, 12 tries

Not bad from Marshall considering he's a shit Halfback @Foordy - His first full season in the position after a year playing Union nearly trumps Hunt's best ever season in the NRL, with 3 fewer games played.

Hunt is our best half for this season.

Get him back together with Milf and coach them to play more and more on the same side.

Blair to lock, all forwards looking to offload and regularly pass at the line.

Let the ball do the work and moving forward, hit and hit hard in defence

So you pull out stats which just show Hunt was the better out of the two..

If you remember 2015 at all, you would know there were quite a few tries that were scored because of Hunt, but didn't get the try assist because he didn't throw the final pass.. Like Maranta's first try against the Tigers in Round 19 for example. These are things that aren't really reflected in stats.

Perhaps you should watch those games again. Because it's not even debatable. Hunt was better.

So stats are only relevant when they support your argument, if they go against what your personal opinion is then there's many variables that we have to factor in which explain why the stats are obsolete?

Ok, thanks for clearing that up.

Unbreakable really knows how to derail a good thread.

?

It's a pre-game thread and we're discussing Halfback options for the remainder of the season.

They should have a stat for when you lose your team a GF, as well.

Hunt will be adopting a new coping method when he joins the Dragons.

"You can't lose a Grand Final for your team if your team doesn't make a Grand Final."

lol.

Seriously, if he doesn't dish up a MoTM performance in the next few weeks, let's put Niko back at 7 and go back to winning.

Benji may have a few mistakes in him, but his head is balls deep in the game. He is playing for his career every time he runs on the field. The pass for Oats try late in the game was mint and if he executed that kick in the final stages... well.

I've been agnostic re Hunt so far this season. But I'd be happy if Benji plays with Milf the rest of year at the moment. Hunt tries hard to a point, but Benji has the kahoonas to back himself and get involved in the big moments.

We had a coach in 2015 that showed milf and hunt the ways to playing together. But Bennett didn't like him or that style.
