For some reason, which I can't deny is idiotic, It's good to see Maranta again
He seems like a good bloke, you could never fault him for trying.

As much as everyone gives Maranta shit he had some memorable moments in a Broncos Jersey.

Yeah, Maranta's problem was that he uncoordinated as hell. He definitely tried, within his limited ability. Just couldn't really back himself sometimes either.

This. No one could fault his work ethic. He left no stone unturned to be the best player he could be, while being blessed with the footballing ability of a potato scallop.

We used to say that, yeah, he's a spud, but he's our spud. I hope he gets some regular game time at the Dragons though so we get to enjoy the entertainment but not have to live or die by its results.

Yep this is why I feel bad for laughing about it, because he probably tries more than any player. I would be stoked if he somehow could manage a football career.

Aww, I love him again!

Seriously, none of us have ever played first grade, let alone scored a single try for the Broncos. It took a lot for Maranta to get over the line, but he did, out of sheer determination and just making sure he was ready when the opportunities presented.

He actually was pretty fast back in his school days. I think when he had to put on more weight for rugby, he started losing it.

On another note..

Does anyone know how many minutes Gillett played in the trial?

Manaia Cherrington is hooker for the Magpies in Q Cup, does anyone rate him?

He's been signed to Warriors, Tigers and Sharks in the past. Has also been in the New Zealand squad.

That first video is hilarious, that second video actually makes him look not as bad as most thought he was and those last two tries were just brilliant from Hunt. I will never forget that drop goal rejection, one of the highlights of my rugby league watching life.

And then that end of the second video had me in stitches.

There was a time where I thought Maranta was an alright winger, I can't remember what year it was, but he did have a season where he sort of put it together, was one of the safest wingers in the comp under the high ball, wasn't afraid to put his body on the line and got a little better at finishing tries.

But I mean, overall, he was unbelievably bad.

Yeah, won't forget that, and the look on Maloney's face.

The drop goal rejection - didn't we figure out in the end that the ball was actually dipping, but it appeared that Maranta's touch actually deflected it higher and it was from there it bounced off the crossbar? Like just when you think there couldn't have been a higher level of derp, Maranta almost helped a field goal go over the crossbar.
