How dare you. Wayne won us 6 premierships. It’s been 13 years since the last one but that just means he got goat status a long time ago
You probably should mention that he wasn't present for six of those years and came within a whisker on his return. This isn't a WB/Seibs comparison post but Bennett cops way too much criticism on this forum. The guy is an absolute Bronco icon and a great fella to boot and he shouldn't be disrespected. He is the reason why we lose our shit over 1-3 starts and missed playoff appearances because he created such a high standard for the club.

I obviously hope you are right and I am dead wrong, would love to be. However, I’m not basing this opinion on just ten minutes. All his appearances (not many) in FG and the underage origin he played last year or the year before have all been extremely underwhelming.

Even what little I’ve seen of him in Qld Cup leads me to this conclusion. Really, really want to be wrong.
I agree. I've been wondering what everyone can see in him?

A loss tomorrow and this page and every other Bronco related forum will implode. There will be severe depression, anger and bewilderment. A defeat at home against Wests who have an 800k salary cap penalty and train on a potato field is as low as it can get. Let's hope the unthinkable doesn't happen.

Surely we can’t lose this game.

Fully expect seibold to get us back on track and winning games.

Should win but I won't be betting the house on it. Benji isn't playing so that is the plus for us. I'm not sure if this team is capable of winning games consistently, they could easily be 2-7 after nine rounds as the schedule isn't an easy one. The problems of a poor spine and a young, inconsistent pack don't disappear overnight.

Ofa is not fit enough to play 13. He needs to come off earlier. Seibolds interchange rotation has always been pretty terrible and Ofa is one of those who are suffering dramatically because of it.

Offa played 78 and 70 mins in back-to-back starts at lock last year. He’s got the ability

Honestly I think this is a real danger game. Tigers are a really good team and when they're on, beat even Melbourne. The other factor in play is Seibold is the guy who dumped Farah and almost sent him into retirement so he'll be out for a big game to try to "prove" Seibold wrong.

It really is a must win game, it's not about panic stations or anything like that but as the NRL has proved, no top 4 = no premiership. Starting the season 1-4 is going to make it pretty damn hard to get into that top 4.

Up the boys, if they have any respect for their coach, their fans and the jersey they'll be up for a big game. I won't be so disappointed if we lose but I will be furious if they put in a meek effort.

Silly playing Fifita there , I think offa for now but agree pat will end up there.
If Haas comes onto the bench we'll have 3 props (Haas, Flegler and Patty). I suspect come game day Fifita will drop back to the bench and one of the props will be promoted to the starting side.

My preference would be Patty starting at lock but that seems a huge gamble for his first game. Alternatively Offa starts at lock with Payne/Flegler starting at prop, but again that seems a risk to start a complete rookie at prop.

The last option could be Fifita starting at lock and Carrigan comes on after 20 to play out the rest of the game. Again bringing risk because at some point we may end up with a middle rotation of Haas, Flegler and Carrigan all on the field at once. Plus having to use an interchange early to take off the starting lock

Thinking we may go with Offa to start at lock.. can play big minutes so would have a senior'ish head on the field at all times.

There’s absolutely no way we are finishing top 4 or winning the Premiership. Too young, too inexperienced. Maybe next year. If we made the finals it would be a good achievement. I know, that’s pretty hard to swallow for a Broncos’ fan, but it’s the reality.

I would go with offa at lock and flegler to start with lodge. We need to start fast, so let flegler to RIP in until he's done then hass to replace him. Fifita to come in and move Glenn to lock giving offa a break. Still don't like sua being used as a middle so not sure if he replaces gillo towards the 60min , guess we'll see.

He's been lazy this year. Rarely makes his front when getting tackled, barely makes the opposition land on their back and he's often seen laying on the ground instead of getting to marker. Have a look at how many tries have been scored because of his complete lack of effort this year. His lateral movement is shocking and his arm grabbing defense has been an easy target for the opposition. He's lucky he's still playing this week, let alone given the lock position. He's been a completely different player this year

Would have to go on a 15-5 run to finish top 4, that is not going to happen or even close. I tipped them to finish 8th and I'm going to stick with that.

I agree, and it sucks to say it, because he's not that sort of player, but right after he signed a decent extension. It's not a good look.

I don't think playing Mr Carrigan at lock is much of a risk tbh. His game is more suited to starting than bench impact imo.

The fact that people want to put more responsibility on Ofahengaue and Isaako shocks me. They're been far worse than the other scapegoats so far this year.

Bennett is one of the reasons for such high standards at the club, but not the reason. There were countless other people who played hugely important roles in laying the foundations at this club.

Regardless, no one is immune to valid criticism nor are they perfect, so at least some of the criticism directed at Bennett has to be on the money.

Meant risk only in the fact that it's his first NRL game... Seibold has been watching him at training and if he's confident in his ability he may throw him straight to lock.

I'm all aboard the Patty train and would love to see him start at lock [toot toot]

I knew he was due an extension but has he already signed one?

I read something about a decent deal (like $500k/yr, 3-4 years), not 100% sure it's done though, I didn't fact check. I just assumed he had, and it worked with the narrative in my head so I ran with it.
