Yeah Haas easily for me. I'll tell you who had a good game was Carrigan. Looks like he's starting to believe he belongs.

He is doing what he did in ISC last year. The more he played, the better he got. He does so many of the tough, gritty things that dont get appreciated by a lot of people. HE should be starting over Flegler at lock. He is a far, far smarter footballer.

Yeah, looks like he's getting used to the physicality of the NRL. I like how he pushes up with ball carier too. None of the other forwards do it. I thought Flegler looked good tonight.

I absolutely think throwing the pass, if it landed was the right play. We're just going to have to agree to disagree there. Making comparisons to the greats is a moot point really, either they would ice the game themselves or they had plenty of support around them. Cowboys would set up entire sets to make sure Thurston gets an uninterrupted shot at the ball, Smith could give Cronk the ball 45 out and he would slot it over the black dot.

I have zero confidence in Milford slotting a field goal under pressure, zero. Dearden/SOS who knows, I sure hope they are better. The last good field goal taker we had was... Peter Wallace?

BTW, Milford should have run with Boyd to the left, around the forwards was my point. Indeed running into the forwards on the right was pretty pointless.
Respectfully, I couldn’t be more happy to disagree with you on this one.

And I’m sorry, but the first sentence of your post above makes me think you must be trying to take the piss.

Any of us are welcome to speculate on just about anything, but you’re basing your entire perspective on something that literally didn’t happen. There is no speculation, no debate, no ambiguity.

Boyd threw the ball, to no one, forward.

Saying it was the right play if it landed is like saying Fifita’s chip kick was the right play if it wasn’t too long.

I love what Tommy brings, but he is better imo as bench impact right now.

Did the entire team forget that Isaako is a gun field goal kicker? Also I bet if Seggy could go back he would've run it rather than going for the kick. There was literally one plodder to beat and he was already starting to go the wrong way. Not a bad game. Milf is a much better full back already. Get SOS in the number 6, Deardon to 7, and turps and seg to 9/14 and we have a class side.

Was fuming at halftime, 10/11 completed sets but I fucking swear all of em were one out hitups...it was pedestrian. Warriors were making the ball singe and our defence made Nikorima look like the Flash.

The camera pans to the sheds, and the team is sitting in pods of 3 like group fucking therapy, didn't know if I would laugh or cry...WTF is going on!!

Throwing the ball like that looked stupid, but he's right that just going by probabilities, we are probably more likely to get points by throwing the ball over the sideline than kicking a goal in a pressure situation.

Isaako was hanging around the centre of the field in perfect position for the FG in every set but we never went his way. No cool heads out there when it's clutch time.

Bottom line is you have to win games like that. The problem is every single moment that McCoullough is on the field you essentially destroy the go forward.

I actually for the most part like what Seibold is doing with the roster. If he is dead set on persisting with Boyd than it ought to be on the wing to sure up the defence. I have to imagine that Dearden can't be far off.

I disagree, it was 100% Boyd's fault, Milford couldn't have done anything else in the that situation.

If Milford took the pass from Boyd, there was a very good chance it goes through the hands and we score in the corner.

Yeah Boyd's mum rang Seibs through the week to complain he hasn't had it this year.
I am a big boyd needs to be dropped fan but he played very well in defence, very well. Pulled off some big hits and made some great reads in defence when he led the line speed. Not sure if he deserved mom (haas did in my eyes too) but he was in the top 5

Boyd isnt in their class. Very unfair comparison. You are talking about 3 of the very best in the modern era against a bloke who isnt a half playing in the halves. And you seriously cant tell me any of those blokes havent picked the wrong options at some point in their careers because you would be lying if you did. Smells like a Boyd beat up to me when he did a fairly decent job tonight out of position.
Boyd is experienced, like those players.

He is the captain, like those players.

He was in a critical moment of the game, like those players often found themselves in.

When those players were playing in their 310th (or whatever it is) game, with the game on the line, they would make the right call because experience told them what they needed to do. Every time. It might not necessarily have resulted in a win, but it would have been the play that gave their team the best chance to win.

But if comparing him to those 3 is unfair, then perhaps Cronk, Hodges, Pearce or Maloney are better examples. All played a similar amount of games, all played rep footy and all played spine positions.

Regardless, whether Boyd was playing 1, 6, 10 or 13 tonight, has zero impact on what he should have done at that moment.

And to allay any confusion, I’m absolutely bashing Boyd. When we needed him to take the tackle, he threw away our final opportunity to get the win.

I don’t care if you disagree. I expect more from the bloke who’s played more games than about 13 of our team combined.
