This score line validated what I knew all along, these guys haven't improved since the Newc. game. And fair enough, these are just a bunch of kids which includes a really awful spine and a pretty mediocre backline. Credit should be given though that they only gave up 40 as it easily could have been 60.

This squad will eventually improve as there are a couple of promising players around the joint. Need to recruit well in the coming years though or this premiership drought will easily last another decade.

As for this year, this isn't a playoff team or even close. It probably won't be one next year either. I've got my eye on 2024.

Just watched the highlights (didnt watch the second half to avoid an aneurysm) but melbourne just attacked turpin and staggs all night. It constantly left isaako having to mark 2 or 3 players.

Our marker work also looked very poor.

Instead of the coach screaming in players ears at halftime, he has Demas firing up the projector and has everyone looking up at stats, stats, stats....FMD
And what the **** does Ben Cross do? Attack coach or defence coach.

They stuffed up 3-4 tries out there, 60 would have been a better reflection of the gulf in class.

We've been "rebuilding" for a decade. The excuse doesn't work every year, we just flat out suck.
Understand your pissed but it's been stated that Broncos heiracy expected a lean year. Even most of the seibold fanboys were saying they were happy for a few lean years, instead of just making the finals and bowing out early. Funny how when it actually happens they don't like it anymore. Anyhow can't expect to much from a young side, and no halves

Gee what a genius idea moving him to 5/8 so he can shore up the defensive line as he was embarassing enough at fullback.

I bet the powers that be at the Broncos expected better than this. If they didn't, we found the problem.

I'm alright with not winning it, that's not the issue, we've had over a decade to get used to not winning the comp. All of those years we were rebuilding though, we'll get there.

The issue is the effort some players are putting in on the field, and the club's best punishment is to keep throwing Broncos jerseys at them.

This is my concern to, he's mentioned he wants us to use the footy but I don't see any structure to it. We have had injuries and alot of youngsters but he seems to change the lineup alot. Maybe he is just trying different things to put it together next year. Either way it all seems a bit all over the place, hopefully he has a master plan that we are working towards.
I touched on this earlier, watching the storm carry out their polished attacking plays makes me jealous and want to puke at the same time.

He's just hopeless these days. If he has to play, I hope Seibold keeps him in the centres or on the wing.

All the posters who predicted we'd get smashed were right. I was fooled into believing, yet again. We truly aren't in Melbourne's league and should not make the finals, we don't deserve to.

I should have listened to the naysayers. I think the boys tried hard though and I feel for them. I'm not disappointed in any of them, they were simply beaten by a much better team and the best coach of the 2000s.

You are pretty much always the most optimistic member about the Broncos chances on here, no matter how much we lose or our ladder position. If you give up, it's all over!

I don’t remember anyone in the hierarchy saying they were expecting a lean year. In fact, I remember White saying the Broncos don’t do rebuilding years.

How did Coates go?

About as well as everyone else, lol. Didn't get a lot of ball. I really don't think he's ready for full time first grade yet. Not many 18 year olds are. Just because Haas and Fifita were freaks, doesn't mean every other 18 year old will be too.

I am ruthlessly pissed, not because we got beat by 40, but because we got beat because we played like absolute dogshit. I also look stupid as i thought we would shake them up and only lose by 4.

Macca - news on shoulder?
Boyd - Retire, you're the old weird guy at a party that used to be cool but is past his expiry date and keeps trying to dance with the young girls.
Milf back to 6, Dearden to 7, Turpin to 9. 1 - I do not know but Milfords talent is unleashed with Dearden and Turpin steering the team. Given Milf is doing better than Boyd at 1, he would be lethal with full time roaming license.
Glenn Captain.

I was not confident coming into this game. I was going to be happy if we kept the under 24 points, and scored 3 tries. We did not achieve either.

However, i think it really highlighted we have a long way to go, before we can compete with competition heavyweights when they are on their game. I really hope the squad dont look for excuses such as, we had injuries, suspensions, no natural halves because the issues were bigger than that.

Our defence was poor across the field. If milf is to be our fullback he still has a lot to learn about positioning and organising the defence. We seemed to go into the game with a plan to spread it wide (fifita was getting a lot of ball and making ground) but we moved away from the plan and became rudderless. I know boyd is not a 6 but he has 300+ games and is the captain so i would have hoped he could have led the team and provided better direction.

Oates had another shocker. Nrl.com indicated he made 1 tackle and missed 2.

In hindsight, I reckon I'll put some of the blame on TPJ for the loss. If not for him to not to control his aggression and get suspended this week, we would've been in a fight with the grubs. Most of their tries are on our right side and having TPJ on that side would've saved some of the tries and have some sort of respectful scoreboard even with a loss.

The cheaters slowing down play the ball & forward passes MUST be severely scrutinized come September and they SHOULDN'T win the premiership.

The rebuilding phase rhetoric came out when we were going backwards fast, then came the nonsense about not being cap compliant. I wonder what’s next.
