If we beat Souths on the weekend, our season is very alive.
We will be 7th best case, and honestly we winning beyond our potential at that point we have fundemental problems with our lineup that need addressing I would be very surprised if we were not a week 1 dropout in the finals.

Agreed, even if we were to beat souths (which i am not hugely confident about in any case), there is a big discrepancy between souths current form and that of the roosters, storm, raiders and manly.

I agree we should be working at next year and I think a finals appearance this year is a bonus if anything.

That maybe viewed as negative but i think it is more realistic

Mate Milf is overrated in the five eigth role by too many. My biggest gripe with him in the 6 is his inconsistency. When he is in form he is one of the best players in the comp, unfortunately he only does that for periods each season (tends tp be the backend of the season, which is a positive). The rest of the time he can be fairly average and unorganised.

The last two seasons he's been coming off a shoulder reconstruction.

Last year he became the go to guy when hunt left. It took him 10 games to click and he went on a run winning motm the majority of times, leading us to a 15-9 record effectively playing 6 & 7.

This year, another reconstruction - having to relearn new roles in a new system. His halves partner gets chopped and subsequent ones get injured. He gets moved to fullback to cover Boyd. He has been largely ineffective at the back in his time there.

I think it's more of a case of too many people underrating him at 6 more so than the other way around.

The sack Bennett thread has started on The Warren. I hope we are switched on for this one, because we can win this.

That's a whole lot of excuses you have offered there mate.

Initially I was all aboard the Milford at 6 train, and to be honest i do still believe he could probably do a good job for us there. Especially when paired with a quality no.7, which he have not quite unearthed yet.

Currently my preference would still be to give him an extended run at fullback. He may not be the fullback we want him to be yet but he definitely has the talent to be dynamic in that role.

I think he lacked the ability to take control of our side, and the diminished responsibility may help free up his natural attacking instincts.....It may not work out, but we wouldn't know if we didn't try.

Well can he go do both in ISC or Super League for all I care.
I'd look past all that if he took a 500k paycut so that the club can retain Fifita.
Contracted players can't take pay cuts.

We can if we play well and they play poorly, they can if they play well and we show the same form as the last month or so, I wouldn't be betting lefty on any outcome for this game.

I think we are a fairly good chance to overtake South's and move into 6th by seasons end. Our 3 games are all fairly winnable and we have some momentum on our side. South's on the other hand have to play us at Suncorp, than the Warriors in NZ followed by hosting the Roosters back home in Sydney. They are a legitimate chance at dropping all 3. It may be unlikely but I have a strange feeling that it will fall this way.

Why wouldn't they be switched on when fully aware a loss could cost them a playoff spot? Are you having doubts about the coaching staff's ability to successfully motivate them? I wish I had the spare time required to surf a rival team's chat board.

Excuses? It's an accurate account of exactly what happened.

Are you debating that you were not offering them as excuses? I'm not sure where you have gotten confused.

I was merely explaining to you why you are wrong.

Nice addition to the signature. I am sure you are trying to be ironic but I think it confirms what most people have thought all year.

I take that this is some implicit criticism or shot at me?? Perhaps you need to address your work/life balance or get another job? Yes, I still find time to look at other RL sites despite working 60 - 70 hours per week.

Re the balance of your comment, no, I am more referring to the history of our team for the last few years of simply not showing up (and/or being inconsistent) in games where they are expected to win or should be expected to be switched on. Case in point, the semi-final last year.

I do wish you would get over Bennett being moved on and move on from your agenda.

Why would I have a shot at you? I think you're a good dude but if you are working 70 hrs a week, then you are wasting your limited spare time on exploring other forums. It's all the same shit anyways. Maybe you should buy a boat.

If they can't get fired up for this game against their old coach who is a legend of the game against the same team who humbled them earlier in the season, then there is something amiss. They will be motivated just as they were against Stg in the playoffs last year. Sometimes a team can get on a roll and score plenty of points and the many inexperienced youngsters can not find a way to repel it. If anything, they were over confident which certainly won't apply this weekend.

I'll get over my agenda when you get over yours. A premiership will certainly shut me up. Until then, you'll have to put up with me. [emoji106]

Sorry if I misinterpreted, I have the flu and haven't been sleeping well. Fair enough re the agenda. Re the WB thing, I wasn't having a go at him, just more making a point about how fickle some RL supporters are, wanting to sack WB after one year *rolls eyes*.

Re the boat, no thanks, I am one of the car nuts on this site, three of them keep me busy, a boat would be a divorce.

Heh, I got a divorce and a boat, things have never felt better.
