This will be unpopular, but I wouldn’t be rushing to re-sign Milford when he comes off contact at end of 2020. He isn’t worth anything close to a mill. We so desperately needed his brilliance in that last 10mins, but he just couldn’t do it, he hasn’t been able to do it for a while now..
There’s no excuses for him anymore, he has forwards (with quick play the balls,) that every play maker in the comp could only dream of having.
Seibs needs to have a real look at this team in the offseason. We know dearden will be in the halves next year (from the sounds of it,) I’d either be putting milf back to 6, and offering him 500k or going to market.
The other obvious one is Darius. A call really needs to be made with him.
Oates is well off atm too. 8wks ago he scores at least one of those tries.
Shiba shouldn’t be anywhere near this team.
Fifi, Haas and Lodge were massive tonight.
SoS was good, great defence, which probably took the wind out of his attack a little.
Thought macca was pretty good also.
Gillo was average.
We miss TPJ massively, I have no doubt we win if TPJ was out there tonight. Staggs saw next to no ball which killed a lot of our attack.

Seriously hurts watching what Boyd has become and in this game alone, through two rubbish balls out wide when we had the advantage, had an overlap but he died with the ball, hates the contact and then the way he was held up

We win that game if TPJ was playing. I think people misunderstood just how big of a loss he is.

His energy is infectious, it rubs off on the other players. When he's out, we're lethargic, we're off the pace.

But, we're still in the 8 and still have another chance so that's the main thing.

I think macca should be 7. Calm head good kicking game .... slow but if we have some speed outside him might work ok. Cook proved you need speed out of dummy half just to even hold the markers
SOS should be our 7, no ifs or buts. I'll tell you what though, I'd rather Macca at 6, Boyd at centre and Turpin as our 9 if we really have two keep those two plodders in our 17.

I seriously had a heart attack when that kick was charged down and only Boyd was chasing. Was waiting for him to slip over

100% mate.
As painful as it looks to be, the worst part being the changes that need to happen being clear as day to fans of a bloody fan forum ffs.
Small tweaks in the off-season would create such an enormous change in the squad, but this has already been highlighted by most.

In saying what I said if changes haven't been made and this time next year we have a near identical side with the same issues, such as our main areas of distribution (6 and 9) the writing may very well be on the wall.

I don't post as much on here because I hate to just recycle what others have said, far more eloquently in most cases, but I have faith in us as fans to ride this wave out.
Personally I'm hoping Seibold is just playing this tactfully and will tell at least one, if not both of those players they won't be in first grade next year. It would be a bit rough to come straight into the club in controversial circumstances and then sack the two most senior players straight away.

There's no way Seibold went from watching the Souths A+ quality spine to watching out shit show and isn't as frustrated as we are.

The game was fiery though. He probably would have copped an 8 week ban for doing something crazy

Just on Milford.... Would have been really interesting to see how he would have gone at Melbourne when they were sniffing around a few years ago. Probably be one of the best players in the game.

I can't agree with this. While we have a game plan built around bash & barge up the middle, and where moving the ball to edges (Fifita say) and then wider is an after thought, we jusrt won't cut it attack wise.

Souths won because they moved the ball wide.

Our game plan sucks, and I suspect it is hobbled because of the shitty spine

He was good last year. New systems, instability in his halves partners and a seeming complete lack of a game plan has stunted his growth enormously this year.

He regressed last year and had no buy in into your mate Waynes game plan either

He was pretty fucking smug this week tho. It was baffling.

It was nice to see Fifita run some better lines this game. Was a bit worried he didn't have much else other than strength and speed but he showed some nice hole hitting tonight.

Sutton was told to play the ball four times but refused to as his team were knackered and needed a break. Why he was not penalised for this is beyond a joke. The refs lost total control of the game there. They let Sutton do as he pleased.

Would a Bronco be given the same leeway with a game on the line? Their first try came from a play the ball that was played off the mark so both markers were nullified. Go back and listen to the game you can hear the non controlling ref shout "off the mark" but play is allowed to continue and Gagai scores. Souffs stepped to the side consistently at the ptb and were never once pinged for it even though the refs were aware it was going on.

Oh we have a game plan
The problem is it revolves around a plodder at 9 and a has been 1 at 6. Throw in a lost was-gonna-be-a-superstar playing at 1 when no-one really knows where he should play including himself and have the game plan executed by a guy trying real hard at 7 who has 5 games under his belt.
The worlds best forward pack in history is not gonna paper over this mess......
Yeah our game plan is just to play some footy ,and hope to **** someone pulls off something that resembles footy .
Those options are on the coach, and making milf play 3 positions. It's a cluster ****!

They would have probably kept him working on his running game, not absolutely kill it like we did over the last 3 or so years.
I think they are more than happy with Munster though.

I’m gutted with the loss, but I’m so proud of this team.

Finally I’m starting to see some passion and some mongrel, things that have been lacking in this team for so long. Loved seeing Lodge at the end too - he had absolute rage in his eyes and was filthy walking off. I couldn’t be more proud of him for that. He cares and he’s not afraid to show it. I think the team is starting to adopt the attitude of hunting like a pack, one-in, all-in.

We are starting to play hard and tough.

We have an amazing young forward pack and some solid, hard running outside backs with huge upside.

Just imagine what this team will be when we can link them all together with a proper spine.

We do that, added to an aggressive team all pulling in the same direction, and we will be formidable.

Again, I’m gutted with the loss, but boy I’m excited to see what’s to come in the next few years.

I’m also not willing to give up on 2019. Maybe I’m foolish, but there is the makings of a good football team in there, we just need to find a way to extract it and play to it’s strengths.
