Hope Gould asks him 3 things:
1. is there a clause in siebold’s contract that says he only gets 12 mths pay if he is sacked regardless of when that happens?

There was an article that NRL.com put out over the weekend saying there is a clause in the Broncos favor in which they can terminates Seibold's contract and only pay him out 12m salary, not the remaining years left - should he fail to succeed at the club.
I've got no clue how his success is actually measured..
But, I'd say he will want to start next year fast, or else he won't be around to see it out.

2. What is the performance benchmark siebold needs to meet next season ie top 8, top 4, finals wk 2 etc.
3. Is there a clause in Boyd’s contract that says he has to play a minimum no. of games to trigger an extension for 2021?
Doubt white will be able to give a straight answer to any of these.
1. Yes that is correct
2. Performance is based on various criteria and position on the ladder and performance in finals are both part of that criteria, but they are not the sole performance indicators we would adopt
3. Yes, but his position in the team is up to the coach.

Not exactly ground breaking questions that can't be spun whichever way you want.

I think the interview will revolve around the Broncos noticing a plethora of young talent coming through and wanting a long term coach to see that through.

The tough questions will be on are Broncos in a rebuilding stage... can be spun that Paul doesn't see an issue with the current squad and being able to compete right now, with making the finals evidence of that. But that can then be followed up with when do you expect the Broncos to win or compete in their next grand final... that would need a time frame within the answer that the media can then review against.

A tough question as well would be the apparent leadership vacuum and how that circumstance has come about. Again can be spun using Boyd, Macca, Gillett, etc. and juniors coming through. But you can follow up with how many games experience has been let go and why (moose, Kahu, Niko, etc.)... or understood Lodge is a candidate for captaincy next year is that true and is that not evidence of a shortage of captaincy options... or how young the overall squad is (surely we have the youngest squad in the comp).... ultimately you would want an answer that reverts back to recruitment and retention decisions over the years.

For questions 1 and 3 I agree with you but wanted to get an answer from the horses mouth so to speak.
For Question 2 if the answer is more complicated then top 8 etc I am happy for the criteria/ performance indicators to be individually listed.
I hope they give plenty of time to this segment so Gould can cover a lot of ground.

The fact White has agreed to be interviewed publicly only confirms that the shareholders are restless about the slow uptake of season tickets for next year and he's been sent out to 'hint' and 'suggest' changes in the offing, but I'm thoroughly convinced it will be made up of 80% platitudes, 10% cliches, and 10% rhetoric that doges the question entirely.

All we will hear from White will be about him boasting about our profits and how the organisation is so professional. Wont answer a god damn thing about why our recruitment has failed in the past 10 years, how we still have not got a dominant halfback since Lockyer retired, how pathetic the coaching swap was last year, why we signed a 32 year old for 4 more years on an absurd amount of money, why heads haven't rolled yet from a 58-0 semi final flogging etc. It will be all PR bullshit at its finest. Gould might quip some little things but he will harp on about the youth and that in 3 years time we will be dominant blah blah blah.

I've sat directly behind him during a Broncos v Rorters game (during the ANZ days when the coaches sat in the stand with a little TV in front of them).

Talking to his assistants next to him and on the two-way it was obvious he has nothing but contempt for Queenslanders and especially the Broncos. I know where Gallen got the 'two-heads' saying from too.

If I was inviting 100 prominent member's of our game to a BBQ - he wouldn't even make my short list. The only thing I can begrudgingly credit him with is his unshakable loyalty to all things NSW.

Anyway we ended up thrashing them 46 -18 and as the score climbed Gould's expletives and the amount of vile nasty shit he was ranting compelled me sing 'I feel like chicken tonight'. I was that close to him I could see his neck and shoulders tense up. I havn't forgot that day or the things he called us. Got zero respect or time for the guy.

To be fair, if you were in his shoes youd be the same.

He was 30 when he signed a 4 year deal.
And it was really a 2+2

What better way to placate angry fans who are calling for people's heads. Announce you are giving yourself an extension and likely payrise before anything else of note has even been done. 😂😂😂
Imagine this entire interview is just PR to advertise he's re-signed?

"Phil, Boyd is under contract and we don't discuss confidential matters however I'm really excited to say I've re-signed for 4 years at 800k which is part of our policy going forward involving contract extensions for anyone over 30"

I don't know if it would be really, I believe the club averages somewhere around 4M a year profit but it all depends how highly the board link his personal attributes to our financial success. If they think he's worth a 1M a year at least in profits (with a long term outlook) then maybe they do give him that.

so out of interest i just checked out the annual report for year ending 31 December 2018. White was on 650k plus his entitlements

the year ending 31 December 2017, White was on 600k plus his entitlements, but that year he got a bonus of 200k

to put it in perspective ... apparently the Sydney CEO's average 500k ... although i can't confirm this as the couple of annual reports i checked out seemed to just combine their wages figures into one sum

Nice, I had no idea they actually published his salary. 600k base salary is very fair given how important the position is. I would have guessed about 800k so 600k base + bonuses sounds pretty fair given he's managing the most valuable sports club in the country.
