Broncos team of the last decade

If it weren't for that Christianity bullshit, this wouldn't even be a discussion to have

The thread title is "team of the last decade", not "team of 202nd decade", so this argument is moo.

Shut up and hoot.
hoot hoot!

**** me, i knew this would happen. Tried to start a thread that wouldnt have people at eachothers throats but We have had maybe 3 or so posts of teams and the rest of the replies have been arguing about what a fucking decade is!

I love democracy.

It’s super fucking important alright!

Why, you ask?

Well, Ashton Sims left, after probably his most memorable moment as a Bronco, at the end of 2010, so he can’t be included if the decade is 2011-2020.

Just for some background.

My team:

1. Darius Boyd
2. Corey Oates
3. Israel Folau
4. Justin Hodges
5. Jharal Yow Yeh
6. Darren Lockyer (c)
7. Ben Hunt
8. Josh McGuire
9. Andrew McCullough
10. Payne Haas
11. Alex Glenn
12. Matt Gillett
13. Corey Parker

14. Anthony Milford
15. Sam Thaiday
16. David Fifita
17. Tevita Pangai Jr

I don't think any centre outside of Hodgo came close to Folau's 2010 season. He was the difference in a lot of games for the Broncos and his combination with Lockyer just about lifted the Broncos into an unlikely finals finish before Lockyer's season ending injury.

I think BP nailed it with his team, but to be honest it isn't something to be proud of. I can name.... 4 players out of 17 that you cannot possibly debate deserve their acclaim, like Locky, Hodgo, Parker and Yow Yeh. The rest are either still fighting for their place in the annuls of the club (Haas, Fifita, TPJ, Milford), are already long gone or are frankly floundering or have always been crap (Hunt, Boyd, McC).

Before anyone jumps down my throat, I would classify Boyd as floundering, but there is no doubt he was our best Fullback in that decade.

I would literally murder someone and sacrifice them to my atheist overlords to see that team play one game.

Until you find out that all the talent in the world in other positions can't make your ruck serviceable, and in the modern game that's a death sentence.

Nope, sorry dude. That team is unbeatable. If we are talking each player at their very best.

2. Maranta
3. Shibasaki
4. Whitchurch

7. Turpin (as a halfback)
8. Kennedy
9. McCullough
10. Tronc
11. A.Sims
12. Fai
13. Lowrie

I don't think you know how decades work :P
0 comes before 1, not after 9...

Look at it this way, SF:

2010
2011
2012
2013
2014
2015
2016
2017
2018
2019

How many years are listed above?
Oh dear @Super Freak lol

Google is your friend. I would suggest you use it. They teach this shit in primary school.

With respect to the 'decade debate' both camps are actually correct in their own way

The Freaky one is of course correct, there was no year 0, so the very first decade started in year 1, and in terms of being technically correct, no more needs to be said.

But nobody I know was alive then, and nobody is really counting the days from 2000 years ago, so we need to take into account current context and use in popular culture. Despite being technically correct, how silly is it to talk about 1980 being in the decade of the 70's? It's simply not realistic to expect people to talk that way and just sounds stupid really.

So one camp is technically correct and one camp is using the term colloquially.
