Where does the club go to from here...?

I do believe someone who the team looks up to, someone who checks on the players on his own time, someone who works with the community and someone who is one of the most experienced players in the game was a good choice for captain. It turned out that he wasn’t a good fit eventually and it was rectified. We weren’t talking about him being captain though, were we?

Some of you have gotten so good at avoiding the point and spinning things (because you’ve been allowed to for years) that it’s just second nature for some of you.
What was the score the last time he played?

What’s your point? We can argue yours instead of mine if you want. Avoiding the actual point and saying things that everyone agrees with isn’t winning the debate, dude. Yeah everyone is taking the comment out of context but Hitler was bad so I can’t be wrong, right? Fucking hell..

You can't tell which way the train has gone by looking at the tracks.

You can if you watch the train. Unfortunately you’re on a completely different set of tracks altogether.

You mean the captain of a team that's been going down the gurgler dismissing criticism because the game isn't that important to him? Get fucked. You don't appoint a leader who can't hold his shit together. He deserved to be sacked as captain.

His problem is our problem.

His problem is his problem, not the Broncos problem. Its really that simple. If he cant perform ( and he cant ) then the coach has the power to take the problem away. A strong coach would make the decision and would have made the decision already.

You are having a pop at Boyd for saying the game isnt that important to him, when he hasnt really said that at all. He said he lost a lot of his love for the game because of the social media and mainstream media abuse. He never said he doesnt love playing, he just doesnt like the abusive side of things that come from elsewhere.

I think we're all familiar with the Darius Boyd story, including the context of that comment. There's a certain amount of lampooning going on there. The struggle we're all having, is despite him becoming the competition joke last year, he's still lining up for us in a position that appears to be costing us points.

Well, some people clearly dont know the context of his comment, you only have to look at some of the comments about it to see that.

At the same time though, people are blaming Darius for costing us points ( which to a point is fair enough because he is ) when all he is doing is trying his best, which is just nowhere near good enough. Now to me, thats not on him. Thats on Seibold and thats who people should turn their anger onto. The fix is simple, leave Boyd out the 17. Every Broncos fan can see he is finished, if the coach cant then its no wonder we are in a mess.

Things are pretty dire atm but even an awful Bronco side like the current one is still better than the likes of StG, Cron, GC, NZ, Cant etc. A full strength Bronco side is nowhere near the calibre of the top teams but good enough to finish near .500 and fight tooth and nail for a playoff spot.

They will get belted again next week and they won't beat Newc. but they should win the next three after that giving them a 5-4 record after nine rounds which will have Seibs talking up the team again. They should be 6-6 after 12 rounds but will have to spring a few upsets in the remaining rounds to get to that magical number of 10 which could ensure a berth in late Sept/early Oct. The major problem will be their +/- which will be well over -100 by the time Rd 7 comes along. They will have some work to do.

But 8 or 9 wins will ensure that Spuds keeps his job for 2021 where we will witness the same sort of highs and lows and continued frustration.

Way ahead of you:

I can’t remember who first suggested it but far out, regardless of what you think of the bloke off the field, Robbie Farah on a minimal contract for the season would add so much to
our team. I don’t know how what shape he’s in and if it’s even a remote possibility but I’d be asking Benji to get on his ear.

a Farah and Turpin bench would be great for the mess we’re in at the moment.

I wanted Farah back when South's took him, he's about 300 times better than Macca and would actually have been perfect for our team. Someone who is a competitor, talented and in an important position. I'd say there's zero chance he'll relocate to Brisbane now though, especially after retiring.

We need to sign a top tier hooker, throw the money at Hodgson, or Mahoney, or Jake Friend. We need an experienced player or at the very least an upcoming star in the 9. We can't continue next season hoping Turpin will play 80 every game with no backup.

I’d trade Milf and Bird for Hodgeson in a heart beat. I’d chuck in an Oates, Boyd, and Offa if they wanted too.

Also, fucking Segeyaro. He would have been perfect with Turpin this year but Seibold would barely give him a game even last year, when he was clearly an excellent option off the bench. Seibolds team selection needs to improve a **** ton.

**** Boyd off to Reggie's and bench Milford.

I wouldn't go after Friend ... but i'd love Hodgson, i think he is the second best hooker in the comp (behind Smith)
