For those attempting to justify Seibolds existence at the club, can you point out a game plan/set play/change he has made that has won us a game or even numerous games? What’s he added to this club other then a bunch of kids he worked with previously? I remember the conversations about him bringing Cook and Reynolds and Burgess and we got Kennedy and Kennar instead. His coaching wasn’t what won games at the Rabbits, it was individual brilliance and it’s the same thing at the Broncos. He sucked then and it was evident for anyone who wasn’t obsessed with getting Bennett away from the club in whatever way possible.

There were rumours that he came to the club with a list of players he wanted released. If that is true there’s no wonder these blokes won’t perform for him. He came in and cleared house, that’s the easy part of coaching. He brought in a bunch of average ex-players of his to fill those gaps, going backwards with almost every position he filled. He brought in Ben Cross (what were his credentials?). Great, he knows his stats. Why isn’t David Middleton a rugby league coach?

I know a lot of people are coming in sounding angry and saying “sack the fatso” or whatever @Porthoz but what are the positives? Why was he brought in and what has he done since? I agree that constructive criticism is needed for conversations on here but I have seen plenty of constructive criticism that you’re just not responding to.

Whatever happened to that play when Corey Oates would come off the wing from the scrum?

I can’t believe so many are wanting Kev!

Argument: Seibold only had 1yr of experience with Souths, and it shows.

Answer: Let’s get Kevvie in with zero games of NRL coaching experience.

Gee you guys are clever...
I wanted Bellamy. There should have been basically nothing stopping that from happening.

Sure, he probably used us to get a better deal from Melbourne, but how the **** did our people not recognise that if it was the case? Aren’t we supposed to be the smartest commercial operators in the business?

Even if he really did just want more money, how the **** did we get outbid by Melbourne? If they paid him 2 million why could we not call their bluff and offer him 4 million, or 5 million?

We are the financial envy of every other club in the game and the Coach is the most critical member of staff in the organisation - money should honestly have been no object in this negotiation. We should have been able to wipe the floor with Melbourne financially.

Even as a publicly listed company I don’t think having to explain the huge expense to shareholders would be a problem - nothing drives up our share price better than Premierships and Bellamy loves winning Premierships.

Yeah, he’s never coached before.
Is it a case of wanting Kev or wanting Seibold gone? You can’t continue like this. We won our first two games of the year in substandard fashion against two sides who were amateur hour. Now we play two sides who demand that you tackle and we nearly concede 100 points.
Plus, if Boyd had any self respect for himself he would’ve pulled the pin last year.

Let’s be fair, the side looked really slick in rounds one and two, better than they had since early-2016.

There are a few things working against the side:

- Mentally fragile
- Lack of structure in anything whether it be attack or defense
- No urgency
- They look tired and unfit
- Injuries galore
- Overpaid and entitled players
- The 6-again rule and being over policed compared to other sides
- No experienced players of any value whatsoever
- Lazy
- Poor ball control
- No leadership from the top down
- Talented rookies with no guidance, including the coach
- Lack of pride in the jersey
- Overscrutiny of March committees and harsher penalties than any other club, basically judiciary bias

These are not simple fixes but experience, performance and leadership are the keys.

Can someone just do some side by side comparisons of our penalties compared to what the opposition got away with. Send it to the NRL and ask for answers. We suck, we don’t need the refs to double down on us and unfairly take us out of games.

Fairly sure it was something that had been done in previous years as well. Even if we give Seibold credit for that, it’s such an obvious play that literally anyone could train Oates to do it. Thanks for at least trying to answer though. Still waiting for some people to have a go at answering instead of talking down to others.

I agree. If they are to replace Seibold, the expirement with signing untried coaches should be ended. They should do whatever they have to do, pay whatever they have to pay to get Trent Robinson.

I’m really excited about Oates in the back row, I think he’ll have a point to prove.

Problem with this is it doesn't matter what we throw at Bellamy or Robinson, they're likely not coming. Why would either of them leave well paid jobs at clubs with an excellent culture and a history of success to maybe get more money here? It's not like Robinson has any history with us at all, and Bellamy's is so long ago it may as well not exist. The Broncos was a completely different place when he left for the Storm.

There is a Salary cap on staff now, so ofcourse it nerfs the hell out of this team.

And because of that we can't afford to sack seibold atleast untill a good coach becomes available, our board needs to be culled bad decisions over and over.

BTW, I would absolutely love Hodges and Parker to be our assistant coaches. I can’t really understand why they aren’t already, tbh.
Parker was the forwards coach this year, but has since dropped out due to Covid.

I would love to see Hodgo in there as an assistant though... I think he would get someone like Staggs thinking about how to inject himself into the game even though he's out at center

So let’s just play switcharoo and get someone even less experienced like Kevvie or Hodgo. Makes sense.

Eh, what I'm saying is if we wait for Bellamy or Robinson to come here we're going to have Seibold in charge forever. What I would like is for the club to make a decision on Seibold asap. If they decide to sack him now, regardless of when he actually gets booted out the door, we can use the rest of the season looking for the right coach. The alternative is waiting until November for the club to do it's review of our worst ever season then trying to decide on a new coach over the short off season while also changing the CEO.

Although I would go hog wild over Hodgo being our head coach I'm not actually suggesting it or thinking it's likely. **** me though, he could deliver some absolute balltearing sprays at the underperformers but. Maybe appoint him as the motivational coach. Kevvie is an odd one, he's been around football forever and definitely knows what it takes to succeed. No idea how he actually goes behind the scenes though.

Parker is, isn't he?

I actually love the idea of bringing Webcke, Petro, Campion, Hodges, Caroll, DeVere and a bunch of other oldschool players into the fold to first beat the snot out of the entire entitled team, then gently coaching them to greatness.
Its not just poor performances on the field, its the entire stinking culture at the club that seems to have turned bad.
We need some guys in there who wore the broncos strip with pride to come in and just clean house in terms of attitude and what it means to be a Bronco.
Failing that, im only half joking when i say fire all but a couple and rebuild from the ground up.

I like the idea of having the crankier but highly respected old boys have a job on Monday mornings where they keep the boys accountable.
The forward have to front up to Petero and Parker, the backs get locked in a room with Hodgo and Tate. The halves have to sit down with Langer and Lockyer. Have a beer if they play well, get a spraying if they play shit.

If you think Tate is going to help us out, you might be waiting a while. He is a Cowboys apologist.
