Anthony Seibold is no longer our coach

**** Paul White. Cannot wait to see the back of him. Has absolute disdain for the fans of this club. He can go **** himself

Seriously, who on earth would want this job? Look at what it has done to this man?

A coach with the balls to actually change things that don't work would have this team pumping. Soft, loving, friends with everyone and step on no toes coaches please do not apply, cause they'll probably fucking hire you.

Really feel for Seibs here. Poor fella came in with high hopes and has been crushed in the chaos.

Hope he goes well in his next career move but holy **** am I glad he's gone.
He made an eyewatering amount of money for doing a job he was shit at.

No wonder there's been no accountability at this club. The CEO doesn't even know what it means

I share the same opinion, at a guess ilI would say the current situation would match the worst possible scenario that he could have imagined when he was appointed so I feel for him on that.

He removed some players that needed moving on from Bennett so if that’s his legacy I’m good with him.

And he convinced Boyd to retire, so there is that. We're in a pretty good position salary cap wise for a new coach to come in, there's a lot of money to play with to fix up the squad and our two biggest earners (Bird/Milford) are both off contract next year, so within a year or two, a new coach could rebuild the entire to his liking.

Absolutely the shittest coach we've ever had, but I actually agree with a lot of his recruitment/retention decisions, so as bad as we are, we're still fixable in the short-medium term.

There's about a thousand of those at junior footy across the city. Why can't they find one.

If the team kept winning, he would look like a genius for making those recruitment and retention decisions. But, instead the senior players decided to stop putting in because he got rid of their mates, which has contributed to the year we've had.

Dont make excuses for the flop. Just because hes a big sad puppy dog doesnt take away the fact hes an absolute potato of a coach.

I don't understand why Kenty keeps saying our salary cap situation is diabolical. We aren't Bulldogs levels yet. Boyd is gone. Milford is not completely useless and we only have him for 1 more year. We don't have to pay Fifita now and potentially we don't need to pay TPJ. We actually have some money in the bank.
Macca and Bird are the only true liabilities. If Bird is fit, that will help immensely. Macca may need to have a chat to Matty Gillett about what to do for a club you "love".

I’m disgraced by those of you who are still sticking the boot in to AS. Absolutely pathetic. **** you very much.

I personally believe AS was the right coach at the wrong time. Following WB is always a poisoned chalice as every coach in that position has shown.

I honestly believe that AS did his absolute best, but he wasn’t the right bloke for the job at the time. It’s not like he was sitting on his hands.

All the Anthony to you and your family. You’ve made the right decision; family always comes first.
He took something that we all share a common interest in and absolutely eviscerated it. He deserves every last bit of vitriol he has received and will continue to receive.

While I agree in theory, ultimately his shit man management is the reason the players gave up. It all starts and ends with the head coach and he was out of his depth. He may know what players are good/shit but that doesn't mean he knows how to coach them.

He's been a flop everywhere he's been except for 1 year at Souths, so I'm pretty confident we've done the absolute best thing possible by the club by giving him the arse early.

I'm sure he'll find an assistant coaching role somewhere in the future but a head coach he is not, and there's no shame in that. There's only like 10 people in the country who are actually head coach material.

From transcript:

“I was honoured to be appointed Brisbane Broncos coach at the end of 2018. This was the club where I started my Rugby League journey as a young man and it’s a club that I have always admired. For many reasons, my time at the Broncos did not work out as we had all hoped. But that’s sport. We love sport because it’s full of uncertainty. And rugby league seems to throw up uncertainty better than any sport I know.

“People ask me if there are things I’d change about the last two seasons. None of that matters right now.

“I gave it my best at the Broncos and I am responsible for where we currently are. Head coaches know that there is no finger-pointing and no deflection of blame when a club struggles. These events haven’t dampened my enthusiasm for coaching or wanting to help others achieve. In fact, they have made me more determined. I know that I’ll be a better coach, a better leader and a better person for all that I have learnt over these last three seasons at South Sydney and Brisbane.”

“I’m doing OK. It was a really emotional morning, I’m not afraid of saying I cried in front of the players because I care about them a lot. It’s always emotional to say goodbye.”

“I think the final straw was hopping back on a plane from Sydney when I wanted to be with my daughter.

“Right now I want spend more time with my family as they’ve made enormous sacrifices in recent times. People ask me if there are things I would do different over the last two years, but none of that matters right now. I gave my best to the Broncos, but ultimately I am responsible for where we are currently at.”

Considering the $ he has thrown away I have difficulty getting my head around that him quitting was solely his idea.
All he had to do was hang around for another 5 weeks then go through another sham review where it would be predetermined he gets punted and he walks away with another 1mil+ in his pocket.
Club wouldn't have been any worse off with another 5 weeks of this bloke except financially.
If it was all about his family surely another 5 weeks for an extra 1mil+ is in their interests as well.
