Who should it be?

Those pushing for Kevvie thinking he will reinvent the glory days remember we already have Alfie and Darren Lockyer to do that but are unable. Darren has caused all sorts of chaos with recruitment slash retention. Not an easy decision by any means.

I think the most important thing Kev would bring is a bit of culture and hopefully bring some of these self-entitled clowns back down to earth.
There’s a few players in this team that think they have won 5 premierships with no one actually wining a single thing, expect for maybe (hopefully not) a spoon tonight.

Kevvie for sure, out of the two... as long as there is none of that wakko coach whisperer nonsense he uses in origin.
Or Hodges, at least for a year ,to then see who is available down the track, if he doesn't do well.
Hodges was their last star player, and has proved himself as a coach..

First thing Kevvie should do, is put a picture of himself on the wall with his 5 premiership photos underneath.

Then put the current squad photo on the wall and all their premiership photos underneath, to ram home the point that this mob haven’t won j*ckshit.

Bring some reality to the situation, teach them some humility and then get to work.

For instance, according to a source I have, Pies ran an Army style training course earlier this year for the squad. Milford quit on day one (not through injury) and was excused from the rest of it.

Now this may be scuttle-butt and untrue or inaccurate, but it’s the sort of excuse that seems all too common in the club. That ‘hard work’ has to include everybody and if not, they’re sacked...

And show them kent calling them all dickheads
Kent labelling anyone a dickhead is fucking rich.

the bloke is a fucking **** of the highest order.

he wasn't wrong though lol

I don't get the hype over Thorn as a coach

I wouldnt say he has pulled up any trees, but from the little I watch of the reds, they have had slow, steady progression and he has tried to rebuild the culture at the club. Tbh, I dont think there is a great deal of hype as such around him. For me, he just has that presence about him and demands respect.

Kev's interview is today I don't know about Green.

I just hope Kev forgets about all the Seibs-inspired fancy Powerpoint pressos and just acts naturally and himself in the interview. I assume he gets a bit nervous in these interviews (like many of us do) but he just has to present in a way that is comfortable for him and speak from the heart about his plans for bringing us back to where we need to be as a team, and importantly, as a club. I think he can nail it if so.

Loosen that tie Kev and let the fuckers have it!

It's gross when you stop to think Kevvie has to walk in there all over again and stand in front of many of the same halfwits who overlooked him last time and maintain a sense of humility while he asks them to not make the same mistake this time.

Karl Morris sitting across a boardroom table passing a judgement on Kevin Walters honestly makes my skin crawl.

Kev's interview is today I don't know about Green.

According to Badel, both interviews are this arvo. Kev first cab off the rank and Green second. They both get 1 hour to pitch their vision for the team. The board placing huge emphasis on each potential coachs' support staff. Only these 2 being interviewed with no second round to follow.

*Fine Print* content is from Badel so cannot confirm with 100% accuracy.

Walters should walk in, say “don’t make the same mistake again” and walk out. Then they should announce his signing (and Michael Hagan/Matthew Elliot/Neil Henry as the official assistant, Parker and Hodges as well of course) tomorrow morning at 9am. Announce the sacking of Karl Morris and the movement of Lockyer to a more suitable position and name Donaghy, Ikin and a new Newscorp representative to replace them. Put the Bennett posters back up, produce a new logo, new jersey’s, change our 2021 phrase to “B2B: Back to Broncos” and have White give it to the NSWRL for fucking us over and reffing us terribly over the years on his way out.

I don't think Kev has enough shit in him to do that, but gee, I would love to see him do it, and just before he closes the door on his way out, he turns and says, unlike your last coach I think power point is overrated especially where young football players are concerned! Make a good movie hey

only if he has no desire to coach the Broncos

So, does anybody know how the interviews went today?

Or as Kev walks towards the door, he suddenly turns his head back, his piercing glaze turned directly as Morris and comments on the Seibs clusterfuck...

Bellamy and Munster have weighed into the debate on the next coach ... both believe Walters is the man

Bellamy

“I probably shouldn’t say this, but just watching the Broncos this year, perhaps they need a bit of a history lesson in what made that club great and why it was great and Kevvie would be ideal to do that,” Bellamy said.

“Kevvie was one of my assistants for a couple of years. He did a good job with us.

“Part of it (a successful club culture) is knowing what the people that were there before you did.

“It’s really important for our club at Melbourne.

“I didn’t play at the Storm but when I went there, senior guys like Robbie Kearns and Steve Kearney ... those guys basically oozed what the club was about.

“I didn’t want to go in and change that bit, we changed some footy stuff but not the culture stuff, we had to keep that going.

“You have to remember where you came from and what they did. I was at the Raiders when they first started (in 1982), I was a foundation player and we went through some tough times, then Mal Meninga, ‘Badge’ (Gary Belcher), Ricky (Stuart), Laurie Daley and Bradley Clyde came along and all of a sudden we had a really good team and won some premierships.

“It’s important your foundations are successful, you want to keep building your club around that and that’s one of the important things I’ve seen for a footy club.”

Munster

“Kevvie is coaching one of the best sides in rugby league with the Queensland Origin team,” Munster said.

“We have always worn the Queensland jersey with pride and ‘Kevvie’ has always talked about that, the players that have come before us.

“He has spoken about how the Broncos have lost that, they have lost their BBQs, their old boys don’t go to the club anymore, it shows where the club is at.

“No disrespect to them, but you have to remember the guys who played before you and why the jersey is so proud.

“That‘s something the Broncos need to bring back in that jersey and that’s why people like Kevvie are needed back at the club.

“Being a Queenslander, it’s been really sad to see where the Broncos are at. They have a lot more to give than what they are showing.

“Kevvie knows success and wants success and I feel they need him.”

plus some quotes from Walters in the article

“I’m very comfortable,” he said.

“I’ve put a lot of work into myself over the last 15 years to be a coach and that’s what I want to be.

“The best way to present myself is just to be me.

“There’s only one place the Broncos can go at the moment from where they are.”
