Broncos positivity thread

so since "winning" the wooden spoon the club has made the following moves:

CEO: Dave Donaghy (not official, but likely)
Football Department: Steve Walters
Head Coach: Kevin Walters
Assistant Coach: John Cartwright
Assistant coach: Terry Matterson
Mentor: Petero Civoniceva

that is a lot of quality off field moves, I would like to see them add a second mentor in Justin Hodges, he could be very valuable for the likes of Staggs, Coates and Farnworth

player signings that add some depth, experience and variety: Dale Copely, John Asiata, David Mead, Albert Kelly (train and trial)

whatever you want to say about the club, they're not sitting on their hands in response to our worst season ever.
I dare say unofficially you can add Hodges. Bennett didnt want him in the QLD camp, so in between a modified Q Cup he will have time. Parker also maybe in between tv duties?

For sure hodges....but that means they need to punt boyd ....**** yeah

Boyd would be valuable to have around the training paddock. his training and game preparation was always meticulous. this is something he can certainly teach our young squad.
If it works and he can bring something good and healthy, then he does have a lot of game experience to offer.

Apparently a lot of the players like him aswell so can't be a bad thing.

Agreed, and no doubt we need to improve the roster but you can't sign who isn't available or who you can't afford, but in terms of off field recruitment, this is outstanding

I feel like Boyd needs to step away for a bit. The last thing we need is an enabler of mediocre bullshit under the guise of doing their best.
Yeh, I’ve said it before, but honestly; what is he going to teach the kids coming in one day a week when he seemingly couldn’t teach them anything 5 days a week as well as being on the field with them.

He’s also not a noted big talker, so standing around telling them won’t be as effective a tool for him as leading by actions. Which again, he was already doing.

Hard pass from me.

Who gives a ****.....remind me of our last premiership win....for you that would be 2020

You'd think this one thread, of all the numerous threads on this forum, might respectfully be kept free of reactionary negativity, but no. We can't even have that.

Sigh.
Hows positivity possible when paul white is a staff member here💩

what the **** are you talking about?

p.s. guess who played in that last Broncos premiership

Come on guys, I am as negative about this club (or more accurately the board) as the next bloke but even I want to keep this thread free of negativity.

There are things to be positive about in terms of the coaching staff and even some players. This is not the thread to bag people out for being positive, whether we agree or not. Move on and take it to another thread if we must.

What I am positive about is footy coming back and my beloved Broncos running out on the field. I don't know what they will dish up this year and in a way I am excited to see how we play under Kev. See what style of footy we play and I hope its fast and creative. We need to take chances and the boys hopefully are all in and are ready to have a real go. If so we can most definitely turn some heads.
I no longer care about signings, we have what we have and they need to do the job, some of these lads need to challenge themselves and any of them could have a break out year. Hopefully it's more then one or two.

A few other positives
Kev, positivity is contagious. He believes in this club with all his heart. I am behind him as I know we all are on here and I am hoping the lads are buying in.
For once our spine has options in the half department, with a coach that knows how to use them.
Our forward pack is a year older and more developed. Some of the dead wood has been trimmed.
Payne will not be abused the way he was last year. He was run into the ground and I think he really missed having Lodge by his side.
Lodge to be healthy. I think he has copped a lot of heat, he was busted last year and still tried to have a go. The pack missed his leadership.

Things to be watchful of
Our hookers need to stay healthy.
We need somebody to step up at fullback.
A Forward leader needs to stand up and set the standard. Lodge I am looking at you.

Speaking of hookers... Anyone know how Macca is travelling with his injury? Is he fully healed and ready to go?
