Cliffnotes version:

- Brisbane lost Reece Walsh. Walters offered him a 'fair' deal but couldn't compete with the Warriors lucrative offer and blamed the state of the salary cap
- Corey Oates is on $600,000 and is playing for Souths Logan Magpies
- Brisbane have 12 players off contract
- Piakura is being offered $250,000 a year, Staggs $700,000 a year and Coates a three year deal average $566,000 all from the Gold Coast
- Brisbane are in the middle of sorting out deals with Jordan Riki, Tom Dearden and Tesi Niu.

Once KW makes the call to not resign Milf on anywhere close to 1 mill, or at all, then our cap will be ok.
I have no doubt this will happen.
Hell, I'd take Lachy Lewis on 300k before Milf on 600k.
At least we would get close to our moneys worth.

Geez, we have to have some decent coin available for 22. Macca is sucking up 200k and Oates 600k. Chuck in Milfs contract and probably Glenns. That's a bit of cabbage right there.

This guy is as transparently bad as I've ever seen. How does he keep his job and get so much air time? He is consistently proven wrong and consistently proven to make up his stories.

This is clearly a case of taking what Kevvie said in the presser way out of context and now somehow the Titans have 1.5 million to chase three guys we desperately want to keep??? And we can't come up with 250k to match the bid on Piakura even?

Deadset, if you are going to make up lies, at least don't treat your audience as stupidly as you look.

I can understand wanting to move on from Milford but I would never want a $300,000 half leading the team around.

You get what you pay for.

I wasn't being literal pete just making the comparison.
There isnt 700k difference between what you get.
Get what you pay for?? We are paying 1 mill , are we getting that.

Isn't that kind of a contradiction? I mean in terms of Milford, Morgan, Taylor you kind of don't get what you pay for.
No, that was an inflation caused by the new television deal (which the NRL didn't clear up until after Hunt signed) so contracts were bumped up due to an increase in demand. Both Milford and Morgan were among the best halves in the game when they re-signed, Taylor was out of sheer desperation.

Holmes? Hunt? Johnson even? TTurbo as well (because with his injuries, he isn't offering much)?

I'm not disagreeing with the point you are making either by the way, just kind of showing regardless the reasons, it goes both ways.

The Broncos paid a million because of the state of the market at the time and the NRL's inability to set a salary cap so players like Hunt were being offered $1.2 million contracts.

I've got no issue with them offering Milford marquee money, what was the alternative? And would the alternative have thrived in this environment Karl Morris created?

That last question is the key isn't it. Would Tino be the player he is now id he came through our environment instead of the Storm? Would Collins? Would Walker? Would Munster?
